Vehicle Detail
JUST DROPPED BUY IT NOW TO $699 from $1500!! This is my cost in the vehicle and I won't sell it for less. Immediate payment required- no questions asked. NO EXTRA FEES (except your tax and license and any fees in your state which you pay obviously). I just acquired this Escort Diesel last week from a trucking business that used the car as an emergency response vehicle. This car has literally been across North America. It runs good, shifts good, and the overall mechanicals seem great with no issue. It drives between 70-75 MPH with plenty of power. It hardly smokes, even as a diesel!! The air conditioning works right now but is sproadic and may or may not work when you get here- no guarantee (sporadically, and sometimes colder than other times, but it does work- it just blew freezing air this morning, and then just cool air later- it was 100 degrees today). The motor has writing on it that says 84 tempo, which tells me it was replaced at some point, I have no idea when. The business I bought it from stated it got over 50 mpg consistently. Again it drives straight down the road. The cruise does not work and I do not know why. All 4 doors close and the hatchback stays up! The rear seats fold down. The back tires are newer, the front ones older and a little weather checked. The car hasn't failed to start and holds a good charge on the battery. The car did great on the 40 mile test drive I gave it. Lights all work. Glass is all good! I became a car dealer because I love cars and I saw a need for a dealer who is 100% honest about the vehicle they are selling, even things that the buyer would never know. To me, withholding information is the same as lying, so I will go out of my way to describe the negatives: Here they are: Small fuel leak in the rear middle of car- either the tank or the line- not sure. Doesn't gush- it's just a slow drip. Dings here and there and rust here and there, including rockers, floor boards, etc. Strut towers on front are great. The rear strut towers have been repaired in past and are holding up. There is plenty of metal to repair again if necessary. Cruise does not work and I do not know why. Rear tires are newer, front are older but OK and a little weather checked. Brakes work but feel like they are manual brakes not power brakes. It could be from sitting or maybe something taht gives them power isn't working. They are safe to use but you need to push hard. The starter was replaced recently but once in a while when starting it sounds like it hangs up a little bit ot takes a second try to start, but never more than one try and it doesn't hang up enough to be concerned, but just to mention. Headliner came apart at seam in the back middle and the driver door interior handle area is not good. Everything works there, just a little ugly. The rest of interior has wear, cracks, but overall not too bad. Overall, I have no reason to believe you couldn't drive this across the country as the business I bought it from used it regularly and on my 40 mile test drive it worked great with no issue. My preference though is that you trailer it home if it's a long trip just to be safe so you can go through it yourself. This car shoudld be purchased by an Escort Diesel enthusiast, not a nitpicking novice who doesn't know these. This is a very good diesel Escort that is finicky like all of them, but also VERY mechanically sound in my opinion, and one of the best running ones I have ever had, and I have had A LOT of these! I have sold many Mercedes, Nissan, VW Rabbit, Chevy, and Honda cars and trucks on here and have always tried to make it the best experience for the buyer. I will do the same for you. Disclaimer: After 11 years of selling vehicles on ebay, almost every transaction has been an awesome one. However, there must be a very clear agreement and understanding made on my auctions. I would rather sell the vehicle for less to someone who is good to deal with than someone who is not. If you are a person who does not understand what "used" and "as is" means, then DO NOT BID. I do the best to describe vehicles but I am not perfect and nether will the vehicle be perfect. there may be a fluid that is dirtier than you had expected, a noise that is louder than you expected, or a tear, scratch, and defect that you did not expect. MOST PEOPLE understand this on Ebay and those are the people I want to deal with. For those that DON'T UNDERSTAND this, then do not bid! By bidding on this vehicle you understand that your bid is based on what your opinion is of the vehicle. By bidding you understand that you are buying the vehicle as is, where is. By bidding you agree without question to hold seller harmless for any shortcomings, faults and problems that the vehicle has, may have, or may have in the future. By bidding you understand that this is an auction, and that if you win the item, you own the item, with no recourse whatsoever against the seller for any reason related to the quality of the vehicle. You understand that at time of pickup, there will not be a "test drive" period before payment or final payment. You may verify the vehicle and the VIN and the title to ensure it is the vehicle you purchased. Any "inspections" must take place before you win the vehicle, not after. You understand that when you arrive to pick up the vehicle that you will be given a clear title and the keys, and full payment is to be made. You clearly understand that this is an auction, and that the vehicle is sold with no warranty, and agree that you are basing your bid on your understanding of the vehicle, and not mine. All are welcome to test drive, inspect, and look at the vehicle, and ask questions before you bid on the vehicle. If you choose to bid, it is your choice, your responsibility, and if purchased, your vehicle. I do not have time for nitpicking, dealing with unreasonable people, or people who do not hold up their end of the bargain. I will not provide any refund, consideration, or partial refund for any reason. The bidder understands this clearly. I also will not deal with anyone who threatens legal action, takes legal action, or thinks that they are exempt from these conditions. The sellers responsibility begins and ends with providing the vehicle shown and displayed in the auction with a legal and clear title for the vehicle. The description is simply based on the opinion of the seller, and once again, all bids must be placed based on the bidders opinion of the vehicle. There are no exceptions to this policy. If you do not like it, then please do not bid. If you do not understand that without question this is AS IS, NO WARRANTY, then do not bid. The definition of "hold harmless" is in effect on this auction. If you have any questions regarding this policy, then call me anytime. If you have questions about the vehicle condition, please call, or stop by and inspect. I have high expectations from people I deal with, and will strive to do the same. Check the feedback, the vehicle, bid on what YOU think it is worth, and I will do my best to give the best experience possible.FULL AMOUNT DUE ON PAYPAL WITH PURCHASE..I am very easy to work with and care very much about providing great service and will do all I can to work with you and/or your shipper. Shipping is the buyers responsibility. Vehicle to be picked up within 2 weeks, but exceptions can be made. Just call me to let me know what is going on! Good luck!
