The Toy Barn of Dublin Presents: 1968 Chevrolet Camaro RS Resto-mod If you had to ask "what is the best looking muscle car of all time?" it would be hard to deny the "first generation" Chevrolet Camaro RS. This particular example is a 1968 True RS in fantastic condition just restored and updated in resto-mod fashion with a ground pounding, professionally built 454 ci, alluminum head, 500+ horsepower big block. Here's your chance to own a true piece of Americana at a fraction of what it cost to build. Start to finish there has been over $50K spent to build this project not to mention all the time waiting:) This 454 was built by Bob Profit and is totally fresh, with less than 1000 miles since completion. No expense was spared, including alluminum heads, aggressive street cam, high-rise intake, 750 Holley 4 barrel, Hooker headers, full exhaust, etc, and the motor produces over 500 horsepower on pump gas. All this power is driven through a Turbo 400 transmission and put down to the asphalt via 4.11 gears. The motor runs and sounds fantastic, in true Chevy Big Block fashion. Additionally the car has been fitted with many detailed appointments under the hood; polished intake, radiator, chrome valve covers and breather, polished pulleys and waterpump, Thermostat housing, stanless lines, polished radiator hoses, and many other enhancements. The Camaro rides on staggered 20" rear, 18" front KMC Alloy's with newer Nitto rubber and is on smallblock front springs and 2" drop leafs in the rear to provide just the perfect stance to go along with rest of its appearance. Stopping power comes from front disc/rear drums and stops square and quickly, like a much newer generation performance car. This car was a complete "frame off" restoration completed a few years ago with less than 1000 miles driven since, and looks great from top to bottom, inside and out. The exterior of the car has been freshly refinished in "Card Red" with metallic black racing stripes stripes (the frame was also painted in matching metallic black). The paint on the exterior is in excellent condition, and looks amazing. I would rate the paint on the car a strong 9 out of 10. Not perfect, but very close to it. The rear quarter are all new NOS, as are the front fenders. The chrome on the bumpers looks fantastic, and all of the exterior trim is in great condition. The trunk is 100% rust free as is the rest of the car and it shows excellent. The only issues noticed upon a very close inspection is some minor bubbling on the front corner of the driver's door and on the rear corner of the passenger door (as pictured). The interior of the car is brand new black and red leather that looks fantastic and has all new carpeting throughout. The center rally pack guages have been installed in the console to provide all the necessary information for the driver and complete the interior. The Hideaways headlights have to be controlled manually, and are not power operated. If you've been looking for an excellent '68 RS with all the performance and reliability of a modern muscle machine, then don't miss this one. Completely refinished inside and out, this hot rod will provide its next owner with a lot of enjoyable years and miles, not to mention all the "thumbs-up" from the astonished onlookers.
