This is a NO RESERVE auction so if you are bidding you are not just wasting time like you are on 80% of eBay auctions. My Uncle has already bought a convertible to replace this car and so there is no more room to store this one. It is selling on Thursday night-NO RESERVE or you can make a reasonable offer. A local dealer told me that this car should be worth around $9800, but if you haven't offered close to that by next Thursday, then it is going to sell for whatever it brings! Just to make it absolutely clear-this is my favorite Uncle's car and I am listing it for he and my Aunt (who's car it is) They bought it new and it has always sat in the garage with Kermit in the back seat-ready to go for a ride! My Aunt and Uncle specifically wanted this car with the options it has (sunroof and the 5 speed with the beautiful green and the tan interior) and finally found one in Nebraska and promptly went up and bought it. They have a Jetta diesel they used for the road trips and so this car has no paint chips on the front bumper or gravel to the windshield. I am very particular and use the 1-10 scale to rate items I sell. I have never used a 10 to rate a used item since there typically is always something that someone can pick apart, but when I drove this car out to take pictures I think the thing still looks new! It has never been painted on and has never been damaged in any way. The carpets look perfect and the paint is pristine. I think they are nuts for selling it and if I had another house to store it in the garage-I would buy it! They recently read "Lifes little instruction book" and when it said that before you die, you most own a convertible- they went out and bought a Beetle convertible. Poor old Kermit (this car) is going to get sold and whoever gets it is going to get a car that is virtually like new. The only thing that shows any sign of wear are the tires at around 35% but as I told Unc-leave them on to verify the mileage and the new buyer can also see there are no strange wear patterns, etc. This is not one of those cars that is being sold because it has a problem-and so I am sure it is not going to be the cheapest VW that is sold this week. This is virtually a one of a kind and if you have been looking for a near perfect car-I don't think you can find a nicer one-anywhere! Just for the record-this car was not "detailed" for this photo shoot. It had been washed off the previous day but always stayed this nice and as far as I know has never needed to be professionally detailed like all of the ones sitting on the dealers lots-I wonder what they looked like before they got cleaned up!
