1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396. True 13817 code SS car. One of 612 built in '67 with the 396/375 hp L78 EG code engine. Numbers and date codes match, correct 4 speed transmission. Appears to be a fully intact original car. I bought this car in '99 and have done nothing with it but drive it. Car was painted red when I got it but data plate decodes as Butternut Yellow. Black bench seat interior. Original AM radio. Basic optioned car, manual steering, manual brakes, 4 speed, 3:31 Posi rear end. This car is rust free, I can't find any evidence of collision damage or rust repair. It has rally wheels with center caps. There is a hole for the factory tach at upper left part of the dash, the wiring is intact but the tach is gone. This car is a great survivor/driver. It's not show quality but these muscle cars are getting hard to find intact and looking for parts is impossible if it's not reproduced. The paint is very good as is. The brightwork, bumpers, seats, dash and door panels appear to be original. Some of the chrome is lightly pitted along with the pot metal pieces (taillights, hood inserts, etc.). There is a small tear in the drivers seat. I assume the carpet has been replaced. It drives fine, steering is very tight, no squeaks and so on. The tires were on the car when I bought it so I'm sure you'll want to replace them. There is no spare or jack. The front brake linings are some kind of metallic units. I have no idea if these were original or not. A photo is attached if any one can identify them. I looked under the rear seat and behind the drivers seat for a build sheet and haven't found one. I do not have the protectoplate. I included photos of all the numbers and available date codes that have been found on the car. It is for sale locally and since people were looking at the information, I took photos of it at the same time. There are only basic photos on this listing. This would be an easy restoration and fully restored cars are fairly valuable. They are hard to find intact like this. It has a clear Texas Title.
