1964 Oldsmobile Cutlass Hardtop Coupe, 442 - First Year of Production Serial Number 824M202996 - Only 1,842 of this model produced The Car was purchased in 1972 by my father. He is the second owner. This car is restored to show quality, and has several trophies to help show its pristine condition. The car always placed at the top, and has taken several first place prizes (it was always shown in the original class). The car is black w/black interior, and is a true 442 - 4 SpeedTrans, 4 BBL Carb, 2 Duel Exhaust Specific Condition: - The Original 330 cu. in. engine was replaced with a 1970 Oldsmobile 455 cu. in.. This engine was new out of the crate when installed in 1972 with Rochester 4BBL Carb and Hi Energy Ignition. A larger radiator was installed to insure proper cooling. It has a 3.08 rear axle ratio (all power train rear of engine is original to car). - All floor carpet and interior trim are in excellent condition. - The seat trims are vinyl, and were made and installed by local trim shop to duplicate the originals (very high quality). - Wheels are Buick chrome with Olds center caps, fronts are 14", and rears are 15". - Has adjustable rear shock absorbers(added). - Tachometer stopped working and could not find anyone to repair (have two for parts).. - Original AM radio plays well, but the volume goes in and out when turning knob (knob could use cleaning). - There is a small hole(the size of a quarter) in the headliner just above and behind the drivers left shoulder (headliner is in perfect condition other than this). - The trunk floor pan was replaced with new during restoration. Body: The body is very straight as shown in the pictures, and the paint is in excellent condition. All body trim and moldings are straight and scratch free(including windows and vents). Chrome is high quality, dent and scratch free, and in exceptional condition. All body emblems are very nice and original to car. Engine: The 455 cu. in. engine has 24,000 miles on it, and was new out of the crate when installed. This engine is in top shape, and has been meticulously maintained and serviced since installation. Original 442 breather with Rochester 4BB carb. High performance Oldsmobile W-45 Aluminum intake. Factory High performance Big valve heads(original to engine). The dual exhaust is rust free and has a nice tone. Trans: Original 4 speed transmission is in top working order. The clutch and transmission shift with ease, and the car does not leak any fluids. Interior: The seats are black Vinyl and were professionally Fabricated to duplicate the origials ( absolutely no tears). The dashboard is free of cracking and signs of age (garage kept with climate controle). Seats slide freely and function properly. All interior lights(fronts and rears) function properly. Carpets are in very good shape with no tears. This is a true 442, with a clear Illinois title. It is very fast, ready for show, and definatly a head turner! Absolutely Beautiful, inside and out!
