If you are not seriously interested and able to pay for and pick up this car, please do not bid. I am no expert, although I inspected this car as if I were going to buy it. I then took a more knowledgeable friend with me and had him look the car over as well. I will list here what I was told by the seller and what I saw, and also what my friends opinion was. I will try to describe it as best I can but cannot guarantee anything as it is a used car. I am available, and would recommend anyone that may be interested in this car to look at it before bidding. The car is being sold in as is condition with no warranties implied or written. Information From the seller and my observations:The current owner is the 2nd registered owner of this car which she bought about 17 years ago. About 12 years ago, the car was fully repainted and had new emblems put on and new tires. One front seat was recovered and the water pump was replaced at that time as well. The car has ALWAYS been kept under cover (There is a cover which will be included to the winning bidder). In the last 12 years the car has not really been driven much at all. It has been started periodically while in storage. The T-Tops are Hurst, there is also a sticker on the inside driver door that says "This vehicle was altered by Hurst Performance Inc". Has original inflater spare tire. She said her husband used to say that the numbers match, but she cannot confirm this, and I could not find the numbers to match it. She did tell me that she never replaced the engine or tranny. But it is believed to be all original. Based on the Cowl Data Plate codes, Interior and exterior colors are correct. Tires are good, and rims are in good condition also. The paint is not too bad with only a couple little bubbles starting (See close up picture of this). I see under the trunk lid lip, there was some previous putty work (I am guessing a common problem area on these). Also I see some rust starting on the bottom/inside drivers door. I see the passenger side T-Top is cracked and the other has some spidering of the reflective material (drivers side, see pics). I see the headliner needs redone and the passenger seat has one split that can only be seen when pulled apart. The Air Conditioning does not work. A couple bolts missing here and there. The exhaust has some leaks and is loud right now (but there are replacement tailpipes in the trunk that were purchased to fix the exhaust but were never installed, these will be included with the car to the highest bidder). This vehicle runs and drives. Will need a new battery, probably brake lines (maybe tranny lines) before driving. Otherwise the car runs and drives. The car can be driven onto a trailer no problem. Car will need to be trailered from here because the brakes cannot be relied upon in the current condition on a long drive. Has tilt steering wheel and rear defrost. The motor is a 400 CID V-8. Owner says it is very fast. Here is the information from the cowl data plate:Body By FisherST 78 2FS87 N 229189BDYTR 19N A51 50L 50OUPNT04B WS4 BK620212 General Motors Corp. Here is what my friend told me he noticed about the car. Motor looks clean inside and appears to have been well kept. Body looks good on outside, but some rust starting on lower left inner rear quarter panel. Rear trunk support also has some rust. He says he can tell the water pump was replaced, but he says it also looks like maybe the timing gear and chain was replaced as well. He said he believes based on looking at motor mounts that the motor appears original and never replaced. Front fenders are solid with no rust. Grill looks good. Rocker panel slightly rusty but no holes. In regards to the A/C, he said there is no belt, A/C is not seized. Owners manual and some other original paperwork will all go with the car. As I said above, I encourage you to come take a look and see for yourself. This is a nice original classic that needs some tender lovin care. Owner hates to sell but does not want to see the car sit and go to waste. She would rather someone get the car that will take care of it and enjoy it as she did many years ago. So, here we go on this 78 classic car. Winning bidder will need to pickup the car in Warren, PA (Zip Code 16365) within two weeks of auctions end unless otherwise arranged with me. Please email me with any questions before bidding. I will require a $500 Paypal Deposit and the remainder in Cash upon pickup. Good Luck!

On Jul-15-11 at 04:22:10 PDT, seller added the following information: The reserve has been lowered, good luck!
