Vehicle Detail
This is a bone stock, low mileage, one-year bike in great condition. I purchased it last year at the Rhinebeck national meet with only 842 miles on the clock - apparently it had been sitting, covered, for nearly 30 years up in some guy's storage unit in Vermont. After cleaning out the carbs, I rode it to and from work and local shows all last summer and it proved to be reliable and eye-catching (I received many compliments on its condition). This year, my job has forced me to relocate to an area where the traffic is simply INSANE, and I can't bear the thought of this bike sitting in storage all year long. I'm hoping someone who appreciates vintage Japanese bikes or who needs a reliable and fun starter/commuter bike can get some use out of it instead. The only blemishes on the bike are a silicone weld on the side of the seat, and some chipping on the tank under where the seat attaches. Good Points: Kept stored inside its whole life Reliable and fun to ride Extremely low miles One-year bike Head-turning color (looks chocolate brown or burgundy depending on light) Included with Sale: Clear titleFACTORY service manual (not Clymer/Haynes/etc - the real deal Honda manual)ORIGINAL tool kit, including pouch, as picturedJapanese carb rebuild kit (picked it up at a show just in case)New fork seals and boots Needs:Tires - the ORIGINAL (30-year-old) tires are still on it. I've been riding it that way because I have a thing for stock and they *look* perfect, but it's probably not the safest idea to be cruising around on 30-year-old rubber. Fork seals - left front fork leaks. I have the seals and boots, which I will include with the sale; I simply didn't get around to fixing the issue because the bike still rides great as is. Here is a video walkaround of the bike: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dk4Op3c54co Note: this is NOT a Honda-matic; the CM400T and M were both standard shift machines; only the CM400A was an automatic. On Jul-15-11 at 17:45:17 PDT, seller added the following information: ***ADDENDUM*** I forgot to mention: the original owner's manual IS INCLUDED. It has normal wear - not a show piece, but it's all there, still stapled, unmarked, and 100% legible.
