Vehicle Detail
1974 Honda XL 175All Original Dual Purpose MotorcycleVery LOW Miles I GUARANTEE THIS IS THE NICEST XL 175 AROUND BIDDING STARTS AT .99 cents Up for sale is a hardly used classic 1974 Honda XL 175 dual purpose motorbike. This bike has 1,098 actual miles. This bike was literally put into storage in 1978 and brought out 33 years later in 2011. Any kind of use shown on a normal motorcycle just simple does not exist on this classic Honda. What makes this bike so special is the fact that it is in the same quality as it was in 1974, but has not been restored at all. This dual purpose motorcycle is sweet because you can have fun in the dirt and ride home on the street. Cosmetically this bike is museum quality. The Mars Orange gas tank is in flawless shape there is absolutely no dents or dings in the tank. The paint shines like it did in the Honda showroom in 1974. It still has the original safety sticker above the gas cap. The side panels are in like new shape with no cracks at all. The vibrant Mars Orange has a mirror like finish. The silver fenders are in wonderful shape with no fading or cracks they too have a like new shine. The original owner had the rear light removed and has since been misplaced in 3 decades. The gauges have the deep blue finish like they did 37 years ago a hard find on these vintage Hondas. The bike is equipped with the original tool kit including everything you will need in the case of an emergency. The original seat is flawless and has no tears or rips.Because this bike has not been ridden since 1978. I had the tank cleaned and put in fresh gas. I also had the carbs cleaned as well as new plugs installed. Now it runs like 1974 XL 175 should. The exhaust is not the original exhaust, instead it is an of the era short header a popular upgrade in the 70's and has a cool sound to it. Cosmetically the engine is in very nice condition shows very little oxidation and use. The aluminum still has a shine to it and the Honda name on the side still has the black paint on it. You just don't see a 37 year old dirtbike engine look like this. The wheels are also in VERY nice shape both the chrome and the aluminum shine very nicely.
