Welcome, you are bidding on an extremely pumped up and built 1971 Olsmobile Cutlass S. This is going to be a NO RESERVE!!! AUCTION, car will be sold to highest bidder without reserve. Car is still street legal I believe, but barely. It is the loudest meanest sounding car I have come across. This was an automotive shops race car. The owner of the shop unfortunately recently died and I have aquired it. I was told that the engine was running 11 second quarter mile times when it was in an early monte carlo. This car is a little bit of a project as a new carbuerator has been put on and needs to be tuned. I was told the car makes close to 600 horse power. It sound like it does, but in reality it is probably more like 500 horses. I couldn't tell you for sure as I have not had it dyno tested. Either way this car make tons of power and would be a great starter car for someone who wants to get in to drag racing or have a running and driving project for the street. ENGINE/TRANS: The engine in this car is a 454 that came out of a late 60's Chevrolet. I was told it was out of a chevelle, but not for sure. It has been bored .60 over and is now 468 cubic inches. This engine has been totally modified and built for performance. I don't know the details on it or specs, but I do know a big cam was put in and it was proffesionally machined and Joes machine shop in Concord California. This engine will run on Chevron or 76 supreme gas, but runs better when mixed with higher octane race gas due to the high compression. The transmission in the car is a turbo 400. I believe it has a torque converter and shift kit in the car accompined by a B and M ratchet shifter. BODY/PAINT: The body on this car is very straight. Lines are good and I found now signs of any collisions or accidents. It looks like the previous owner was trying to build a chevelle type car and used a nice original cutlass as the platform. I could not find any significant rust on the car. Car still retains its orignal blue paint job. Car has small dents dings and scratches around it. Chrome looks to be in nice shape and probably would shine right up. INTERIOR: I still have the original seats and cushions for the car. They are worn and would need reupholstering. Some of the interior has been gutted for weight and performance, however the door panels are still in tact. OVERALL: This is a solid mean street machine. Like I said, the carb could use a tuning, it's not as responsive to the gas pedal as I would like it. This car comes with a california dmv bill of sale, as well as some other paperwork as the pink slip has been lost. I do know that the registration is out on the car but don't know the exact fee amount, I would guess around $300 worth, unless it goes out of state and then of course there would be none. Car will need to be transported to its new location, it does run and drive but don't reccomend doing it due to registration being out and the fact that it could use a tuning.
