Vehicle Detail

Time to clear the driveway of a project I will not get to, hopefully to be saved by somebody else. This is a 1973 MGB GT, car # GHD5UD307076 which I picked up a few years ago with aspirations of a V6 conversion and an all weather car. Too many other projects, so needs to go. This came from an estate sale on the coast of California, so I do not really know the history. I will guess it was a daily driver for quite some time judging by the general condition. I can honestly say there is no indication of rust anywhere on this car, although it is in need of a considerable amount of bodywork. Rocker panels and doglegs appear to be solid. Floor pans look like new, spare tire receptable also in great condition along with the battery boxes. If any of you remember the cartoon Mr. Magoo, I believe ths is who owned this car. There is not but a panel or two that does not have some kind of damage, and unfortunately some of it is in difficult places. Both rear corners have damage as can be seen in the pictures. Passenger side rear is pretty rough, and the door has a horizontal crease towards the bottom, but the rest of passenger side looks decent. Hatch is straight with one crease to the right of the latch. Rear lower valance on left has a dent about where the bumper overrider sits. Driver side rear on the outside of the taillight has been beat up, but the rest of the driver side looks good up until the front fender. There is a verticle crease which I will guess is from the door swinging around at some point. Hoods look to be in pretty good shape, nothing major to mention. Roof looks straight, but it will need a windshield, as it has a couple of cracks. Interior is intact, althought drivers seat is shot. For the most part it looks all original. Headliner is still in great condition and the dash has no cracks. Engine numbers shows this to be a Gold Seal engine at some point in time, # 48G739 ET23654. Odometer is showing 46,033, which I will guess to be 146,033. The car is currently tagged, and is drivable. All hydraulics are functional, but I would not reccomend driving it very far without a very thorough looking at. I have personally not driven it further than around the block. If you would like any more information or pictures, do not hesitate to contact me. If you are purchasing and within a reasonable distance, I will discuss delivering the car for a reasonable fee. I will assist in any loading necessary.
