This 1998 Ford Explorer is super clean. However, it does need some mechanical work. The engine is a 4.0 liter and runs rough. The transmission needs rebuilt. It will move in forward but no reverse. The driver's and rear hatch doors need repair on the locking mechanisms. The only rust is surface rust on the passenger's rear rocker panel (please see photo). There is one door ding on the driver's door. The truck was originally 4X4. The transfer case went out a couple of years ago and I had the front drive shaft removed. The paint is fair to good and the body is straight. The interior is in remarkable condition with signs of gentle wear. The driver's seat does have a small hole on the outside edge (please see photo). The back seats had very minimal use. This truck served as my primary transportation which I travel many miles for work within the state. Most of its use was just for me as our van served as our family vehicle. This truck would be a perfect safe first vehicle for a new driver with the noted repairs. This super clean vehicle would serve nicely for an individual willing to put some time and money in the engine and transmission. I just purchased new vehicles for my wife and me. My busy schedule and work obligations does not allow me the time to put into this vehicle. You are bidding on a low budget vehicle that does require some immediate attention.
