Up for bid is a 1979 Porsche 928. This car has a clean California title with no signs of any accidents or body damage or rust. I recently bought it from a friend who needed money and was in a bad situation. I would love to keep it since it makes a great daily driver, however I don’t have room for it. Its in good condition and it drives good, however if somebody takes the time and a little money, it can be in great condition and sell for lots more. I have seen these cars start at $1800 all the way up to $7k. I don’t really have the time or the room to mess with it. It has a powerful V8 motor, and it runs strong. I just drove this car 350 miles from northern California to Southern California with no problems. There are no major leaks and car doesn’t burn oil. Transmission is good and it shifts fine. It might need a clutch soon since you have to push the clutch all the way to change gears sometimes. Body is straight with a small dent in the passenger door and the rest is in a great shape. I don’t know if it has the original paint or not but it looks to me like; it has never been repainted since the paint is a little dull and a wax job might bring it out again. Tires are in good shape except the rear passenger tire that seems a bit worn out. Interior of the car has some issues. A few crack in the dash, and the back seats are worn. I just had the front seats reupholstered for $200 and they look great. The carpet in the rear hatch is worn out as you can see in the pictures. Ac kicks but there is no cool air, which makes me think it needs charge. Registration has expired in 6/2010 and if you plan on registering it in California, it will cost $133 until 12/2011. The mileage is low because the odometer has an intermittent problem. Sometimes it works and counts the mileage and other times it doesn’t. So I don't think the miles are accurate but I don't think it has lots of miles either on it. I believe the car sat for a while and the Sun got the best of it. Passenger window does not roll up or down. I am describing this vehicle to the best of my knowledge so there won’t be any surprises later. I rather tell you everything up front so there won’t be any hard feelings, confusion or arguments later. If you feel like you know a few things about this car and have the time and money, I would urge you to buy it since it can make a great project car. It is a fun stick shift to drive and its great to take out on Sundays to go to the beach or cruise around town. There is no spare in the back and the battery is in good shape.
