Vehicle Detail
I have a 1974 Honda CB550 up for auction. You'll find a few in as good of a shape as this one, but not a lot. The bike is all original except for the 4-into-1 RC exhaust and also the points have been replaced with a Dyna electronic ignition. With the different exhaust on the bike the center stand is no longer on the bike either. The mileage on the bike is 13,159 miles, but I do ride this bike a couple times a week so the mileage will go up slightly. Once the bike is bought and paid for I will no longer ride it, because at that point it is the new owner's bike. The chrome front and rear fenders still look brand new. The bike still has the original tool kit under the seat, which looks brand new. The paint is completely original and still has a great shine to it. The top of the tank is faded a bit from the sun but is still shiny. The tires still have a lot of life on them, everything on the bike works as it should. Keep in mind that although the bike runs great and everything works, this is a 37-year old motorcycle. You shouldn't buy one of these with the idea that it will never need anything done to it to keep it on the road. These bikes will run forever but they do require regular maintanence to keep them in this great shape. The bike does not come with a warranty or any promises, I've described it exactly as it sits. With all that being said about how great the bike is and what great condition it is in, I'm not selling something and not stating the few things that I see that could be fixed on it. The header has some surface rust on it on the pipes close to the motor. It doesn't appear that anything has rusted through but there is some rust there. The bike runs great but has a little bit of popping during decelerating, which means it's running a little rich. It's not something that you even notice unless you're really paying attention. There are 2 scratches on the top of the tank. The petcock previously only worked in the reserve position and this caused one of the carburetors to overflow when the bike was turned off. This has been fixed, the petcock works as it should and the carburetor does not overflow anymore. None of these items affect how the bike runs, it still runs great and I love riding it, I'm just disclosing everything that I know about the bike. I have a clean and clear title for the bike. The title is a replacement title for a lost one so the mileage is shown as exempt. When the mileage is filled out on the title and put in the new owner's name the mileage will carry over to the new title. ALL SHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS MUST BE MADE BY YOU AND CONFIRMED WITH ME IF THEY ARE DIFFERENT THAN STATED. I CAN BE HERE TO ALLOW A SHIPPER TO PICK UP THE BIKE BUT I CAN NOT DROP OFF THE BIKE ANYWHERE OR CRATE THE BIKE. I CAN HOLD THE BIKE FOR 2 WEEKS AFTER THE FULL PAYMENT IS RECEIVED. THE BIKE IS ALSO FOR SALE LOCALLY, I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION EARLY IF THE BIKE SELLS. I forgot to mention that the backrest in the pictures does not come with the bike. It is not original to the bike and doesn't really fit the way it should, it will be coming off before it goes to its new home, I can send pictures without it if anyone really wants them.On Jul-10-11 at 16:49:42 PDT, seller added the following information: Please contact me if you have a zero feedback before you bid with your arrangements to pay for the bike and pick it up. I've sold quite a few bikes on ebay and anytime someone with zero feedback wins, they never pay and I have to re-list the item. All zero feedback bidders will be cancelled unless they first contact me.
