Restored all original! 2ND OWNER I have posted a brief history of the make and model. 1952 DODGE WAYFARER 2-Door Sedan Fluid-DriveInformation on DODGE WAYFARER 2-Door Sedan Fluid-Drive model year 1952, version for North America USA with 2-door sedan body type, RWD (rear-wheel drive) and aut 3-speed gearbox. Quick specs: engine displacement: 3772 cm3 / 230.2 cui; power: 76.5 kW / 103 hp / 104 PS / 3600; torque: 258 Nm / 190 lb-ft / 1200. Dimensions: length 5077 mm / 199.875 in, wheelbase 2921 mm / 115 in , standard tire size 6.70 x 15, estimated curb weight 1530 kg / 3370 lbs . How fast is it ? Performance: top speed 133 km/h (83 mph) (theor.); accelerations 0- 60 mph 21.5 s (sim.); 0- 100 km/h 23 s (sim.); 0- 1/4 mile 23.3 s (sim.); Fuel consumption: official: , a-c pred. average combined: 20 l/100km / 14.1 mpg (imp.) / 11.8 mpg (U.S.) / 5 km/l Dodge restyled the Wayfarer, changing the grille and adding fender-mounted tail-lights and a chrome strip on the rear fenders; the Sportabout roadster was replaced by a convertible, still selling for $1,727, but now facing tough competition from the Nash Rambler, which was pricier and slower but got much better mileage. The charming little Rambler actually outsold the Sportabout by 3:1 in 1950 alone. The Wayfarer was given another, more complete facelift, with a long, sloping hood, a new ram’s-head hood ornament, and a lower, wider grille; a new dashboard was installed, with a big round speedometer dominating rectangular gauges. New to the Wayfarer was the Gyro-Matic semi-automatic transmission, which, like the Fluid Drive, had low and high gear ranges; but it was a better design, and 0-60 came in around 17 seconds, a massive improvement since the engine was the same. In 1952, the Wayfarer continued for one last year, as a corporate review suggested dropping the short-wheelbase Dodges, which may have confused the Dodge and Plymouth images. The Sportabout was dropped, followed by the coupe, which ended in the middle of the model year. The entire Wayfarer line was absent when the 1953 models appeared, boasting a new Hemi V8 and unified bodies; after two years of low sales, and just three years of existence, the Wayfarer’s price point was replaced by a low-end Dodge Meadowbrook.
