Buying an ATV online can be scary. You'll notice in a lot of auctions there is very little description and very few pictures. In our auctions you get all the details, both good and bad. In addition you are always welcome to come check this quad out and ride/inspect it for yourself before the auction ends to ensure your happiness. ATV: This is a 2008 Honda Recon ES 250. It is an air cooled, 4-stroke, ATV with a five speed transmission. You do have to shift gears but because it is an ES (electric shift) model you do that simply by pushing buttons on the left handlebar. You do this with your thumb, up for an upshift and down for a downshift. It is a very simple, easy to use setup that allows you the convenience of an automatic with the reliability of a gear driven transmission . They also have reverse and electric start. The Recon 250 is a great machine. It is an adult sized machine but is at the small end of that scale. Many of today's ATVs are absolutely huge and that is fine if that is what you want. However many folks are more comfortable with a more compact machine. They can be stored in a smaller place, are easier to ride and are much less expensive. Their size also makes them a great choice for teens and smaller adults who may not like the heavy steering effort of a large 4x4. These machines have all of the features of larger ATVs, like shaft drive, independant front suspension, racks, floorboards and a trailer hitch. The best part if this machine is that you get that legendary Honda quality. We work on every make and model of ATV and motorcycle and I can quite honestly state that Honda quality is second to none. Condition: This machine is in excellent, low hour condition. It has been ridden, but not very much much. It does not have an odometer but I would guess it at around 350 miles based on its condition. It starts and runs perfectly with no noises, smoke, leaks or other imperfections. The transmission shifts perfectly with no problems at all. Cosmetically it looks great. There is nothing cracked or broken anywhere on it. It does have a few lights scratches here and there but overall it looks well above average for an '08. The tires look great with about 75% of the original tread remaining. The rims are also nice with just a few dings around teh outer edges like most used ATVs. A new one just like this is $4,099. This one looks new, runs new and is a chance to get the ATV you want at a great price. I will be happy to work with your shipper within reason to make it go smoothly for you. Details: Overall this is a very nice ATV that will make someone very happy. No games here, it will sell. No reserve and no “buy it now”. As for transaction details, We are located in Georgetown, Kentucky (40324). We are right off Interstate 75, 15 miles North of Lexington KY and 75 South of Cincinnati, OH. Our preference is that you pick this machine up with cash in person, but we will also accept a certified check or bank to bank wire transfer. It MUST be paid for (not necessarily picked up) within 7 days of the auctions close. We are willing to ship it but you must make the arrangements. If you pick this ATV up in person, we have to charge you 6% Kentucky sales tax. We will provide the winner with a KY Certificate of Sales tax paid. When you title this ATV in your home state they WILL credit the 6% back to you and you will only have to pay the difference (if there is any) to your local sales tax. If you have it shiped to you, anywhere outside of Kentucky, you do not have to pay Kentucky sales tax but may still have to pay sales tax in your home state. The only other exception to this sales tax rule is a valid state exempion for farm/agricultural use. We don't need a deposit but if we ship, it must be paid in full first. This machine comes with a clean title that is ready to transfer. It will also come with a bill of sale and proof of being lien free. You are welcome to inspect it as long and well as you like before finalizing the deal, but it is used and sells as-is. Thanks and happy bidding. Canadian Bidders: We sell many ATVs to Canada because it saves you a lot of money. We know the paperwork requirements and what it takes to get it done. However, it is very expensive to have an ATV shipped from door to door due to customs broker fees. If you pick it up yourself or have it shipped to a border town and do your own border crossing you will save thousands vs buying in Canada. We also have a shipper we can direct you to who has many warehouses along the border where it can be shipped to and stored until you pick it up.
