Vehicle Detail
Our 1979 TR-7 is in great condition inside & out as well as mechanically. At last September's Colorado English Motoring Conclave in Denver (over 500 British cars and bikes) it was Awarded the Second in Class Award. At that same event it was Awarded a Second Place Award from the Rocky Mountain Triumph Club at their show within a show September 2010. The TR-7 has always been garaged and kept under a car cover, the cover also goes with the car. The 5-Speed Transmission and clutch have less than 2,500 miles on them. The Clutch Master Cylinder, Slave Cylinder, and K&N Air Filters have approx. 400 miles on them. The odometer reads 12,728 miles, according to the previous owner the speedo broke and was replaced in 1988, a year after he purchased it. I was told it had approximately 28,000 miles on it when the speedometer broke in 1988. He sold it to me in May of 2008 with approximately 10,000 miles on the odometer; I've put the rest of the miles on it. As far as I know it has approximately 42,728 miles on her. Those are the facts as I know them. The previous owner has been in the local Triumph club with me for the last 13-14 years and kept the TR-7 garaged and covered as well. You can tell from the pictures that the top is less than a year old, I had a new Clarion CD player installed 2 weeks ago at Drive-in Auto Sound. Even at our altitude here in Colorado (6K-7K ft.) the TR-7 runs great. It will run up and down I-25 in 5th gear at 75 mph at 2800-2900 rpm's all day long. It gets 28-32 mpg on the Interstate and 20-24 mpg around town. As you can see in the pictures the body and paint are in great shape with the exception of a scratch on the left rear quarter panel (fender). It is originally a California car, there isn't any rust on it. I've had it for 3 years and as stated above it's been garage kept and covered. Along with the excellent over all condition it only costs me $150 a year for full coverage with the collector's car insurance policy I have. The factory water chokes were replaced with manual chokes. The passenger seat is in fine shape, the drivers seat is worn on the upper left bolster (bolster closest to the drivers door), other than that it's in good shape as well. The tires have plenty of tread left on them; however, they are really weather checked and should probably be replaced in the not too distant future. I decided to leave tires up to the new owner because of personal preference, such as high performance, all season, etc. This TR-7 is one of the 30th Anniversary SCCA 'D' Production Champion cars. It is being sold "as is" and the winning bidder is responsible for having the TR-7 picked up and/or shipped to it's new home. Another reason to buy this great TR-7 is the fact you can drive it to the Vintage Triumph Register National Convention in Breckenridge, Colorado this August 2011 without fear of needing any work. PLEASE!!!! ONLY PLACE A BID IF YOU FULLY INTEND TO PAY FOR IT!!!! Bidders must have a PayPal account and an active EBAY account with more than 10 winning bids and Positive feedback. A deposit in the amount of $500.00 must be paid immediately to my PayPal account at the close of auction, the deposit is non-refundable!!!!. Unfortunately our TR-7 was won the first time by a deadbeat and the second time by an attempted Scam artist according to EBay. So needless to say it has been extremely frustrating and expensive. I'm praying that the third time will be the charm and the TR-7 will finally end up at a good home that will truly appreciate the TR7. I apologize for any inconvenience but hopefully you can understand the reasoning behind all the precautions.
