Vehicle Detail
2001 Isuzu Rodeo Sport hard top. 153,800 miles. 2.2L 4 cylinder motor, 2WD RWD. Manual transmission. Includes Panasonic CD player with MP3 port on the faceplate. Dual moonroofs. The front one props open. Cold AC works great. Gets good gas mileage. Consistant 25 MPG combined city and highway. New or newer parts: Battery in September of 2010. Front brake pads are new. Front upper and lower balljoints, front shocks and tie rod ends on both sides were all installed at 110,000 miles. Spark plugs and wires were replaced about a week ago. Clutch was replaced at 90,000 miles. Still performs great. Parts in need of replacement and known problems: Needs all 4 tires. It still has a brand new full size spare. Needs front rotors. The current ones are scored and lightly warped. Still very driveable though. Fuel gauge has not worked since I got it at 80,000 miles. I looked into it and it's a very common issue with this model. Apparently the sending unit needs to be replaced to correct (about a $65 part). I've just been using the trip odometer and resetting it when I fill up. Drive it about 350 miles and find a gas station. 17.7 gallon tank at 25MPG would get you to 442 but I didn't feel like pushing it. I always only got about 14 gallons into it driving it this far each time. The check engine light is on. My scan tool shows 2 codes, both related to the fuel gauge not working. The valve cover gasket is leaking oil. Between this and what the engine uses (another common issue with this motor) it uses about 2 quarts of oil between oil changes. The A/C blows cold but the 4 speed fans is intermittent on high. The interior is nice for it's age. There is one small burn mark from a cig butt on the passanger seat and a larger one on the driver's. I do not smoke these are from the previous owner. The pull out ash tray is missing. The exterior is also nice for it's age. No significant rust. One small wave or dent on the driver's side just behind the driver's door. You can't even see it in the pictures. That's all I can think of. It's been a great, reliable running vehicle for me. I bought it to escape high gas prices to commute to work. My other vehicle is a Dodge Ram that gets far worse mileage than this. The reason I'm selling it is because I've been working much closer to home than I used to and it's not worth having the two vehicles since I'm working so close to home now.
