Vehicle Detail
I am selling this 1966 Barracuda Formula S (one of 2,346 made) as I am tired of hearing “You never finish anything” and when I start to work on it again as soon as a box arrives, after an immediate check with the credit card company shortly thereafter, “You are spending too much” So what we have here is a Chrysler Historical verified 1966 Plymouth Barracuda Formula S pale yellow with a citron interior. I picked up a parts car which was white and citron with a rebuilt 273 and a better interior (the formula S had been spray bombed black inside and out) but rusty and put the two together. Up until 6 months ago I would start it every other month and let it warm up, but it didn't start the last time so I ordered some parts (read the paragraph above again...you get the picture). I was negotiating on the price of a parts car for the driver's quarter when the last exchange happened with the addition of “Don't cut that car here” This was the last straw, I am giving up! Can't win The good: 1966 Plymouth Formula S 273 Commando Automatic with all the Formula S bits, has the original motor and a rebuilt one installed. Have the IBM card from Chrysler verifying its a Formula S. It has been a California car its whole life (ordered new in Berkley CA) It's 98% complete and comes with many spare parts. Has a clean title CA DMV non op'ed, so no back fees. The OK most of the interior and door panels and general shape of the car The not so good: Known missing: Fender tag was stolen (a replacement tag is available from Galen Govier with documentation and pictures) I lost one bucket seat track, the wood grain steering wheel was trashed (literally and figuratively) , the special hub caps are enjoying life in the land down under (that's Australia not the grave) , the rear of the spare tire well is rusted (have a replacement) there is a dime sized hole in the cowl, and 2 more in the passenger rear quarter. All the panels need help (read bodywork). The white on the exterior was meant to seal the primered outside and was just painted quickly. The potmetal chrome is not the greatest and what is left of the fenderwell trim is going to take some work (I think there is some extra) The BAD: The driver's side quarter is rough, a good bodyman might be able to save it, but I would replace it. A neighbor of mine has had REALLY good luck with www.freightquote.com and he recommended it to me as the cheapest way to ship. All shipping cost and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer. I will make sure I am around to assist the shipper when he arrives and will load the car up with the spare parts. Must be picked up within 30 days. As with any vehicle this old it is Sold as is were is, with no written or implied warranty. Do not commit till you have read everything, sale is final, no return or refunds. Please keep looking at my auctions as more of my toys are put on the chopping block :(........ Be sure to add me to your favorites list.PLEASE STOP ASKING TO BUY JUST THE GAUGES, THIS IS AN AUCTION FOR THE WHOLE CAR. IF THE WIFE DIDN'T WANT IT GONE I WOULDN'T BE SELLING IT!!!!!!! Thanks for Looking!
