Vehicle Detail

(Relisted due to non paying 0 feedback bidder. That was the first time since 1999 that this has happened. Sold for $2650 on a regular auction. Now on BUY IT NOW for fast sale. Please if you do not have money do not bid). Hi! For sale is a very old, very rare, and very cool 2 wheel drive (gas - not diesel) Toyota pickup! You can look FOREVER and have a very hard time finding THIS good of an ORIGINAL TRUCK! Check out the OLD SCHOOL CAMPER TOPPER! This is a "prehistoric" Tacoma. The truck's motor (8rc) runs very good. Transmission seems very good (no issue or noise that we can tell) and shifts through all gears nice. It's a 4 speed manual. Clutch feels great. New battery. Dual gas tanks (not sure how to switch them yet). Truck is basically a one family owner truck in rural Nebraska until just recently when my nephew bought it. No air. No power steering. Base model. It does have the original radio. It has 65,800 original highway miles. For the majority of the past 25-30 years it has been in a shed and just driven time to time to keep it going. My nephew confirmed the mileage with the previous owner, and they swore that they knew 100% that it is original miles. Since we do not have paperwork and records, we cannot prove it. Very very little rust for the year. Actually the truck was very heavily undercoated when new, and the truck underneath is exceptional for the year. The only doctoring we did to the truck was lightly paint the bumpers, and wax and clean the truck. No touch up paint. There may have been some paint work on the truck many years ago, it is hard to tell. I believe the topper has been on there since new and I would think that the bed would be in excellent shape....no guarantee, but just a guess. There will be rust spots here and there on the truck just not many, it's a 1971, but again, this truck has less rust underneath than most cars even in the 80's and 90's. It has a manual choke that works very well. Once warmed up the truck absolutely runs like a top and you feel like you can drive it anywhere. Gauges stay good, doesn't smoke (just when started if choke is too high), I don't believe there is even a drop of a leak anywhere. I believe you could, but since it's so old I recommend trailering it home. Problems are as follows: few small dents (a bigger crease dent on the driver door area), rust here and there, there is rust in the tray area behind the brake fluid resorvoir as well under the hood, tires are all old (front ones are bias ply- believed to be original-with the other two bias plys in the bed of truck, and two larger mud type tires in the back), brakes are new he was told but something in the brakes needs work because they are spongy and need pumped up to stop it, plus the brake fluid and clutch fluid caps are rubber and really floppy and need replaced so that they will be a tight fit. Muffler isn't really loud but is rusty and should be replaced, and again it just has barely been driven and takes a little while to warm up (the manual choke does work like a charm though!). Also, go throught the fluids etc as anyone would when they first acquire a car. I have sold many Mercedes, Nissan, VW, Chevy, and Honda cars and trucks on here and have always tried to make it the best experience for the buyer. I will do the same for you. Disclaimer: After 11 years of selling vehicles on ebay, almost every transaction has been an awesome one. However, there must be a very clear agreement and understanding made on my auctions. I would rather sell the vehicle for less to someone who is good to deal with than someone who is not. If you are a person who does not understand what "used" and "as is" means, then DO NOT BID. I do the best to describe vehicles but I am not perfect and nether will the vehicle be perfect. there may be a fluid that is dirtier than you had expected, a noise that is louder than you expected, or a tear, scratch, and defect that you did not expect. MOST PEOPLE understand this on Ebay and those are the people I want to deal with. For those that DON'T UNDERSTAND this, then DO NOT BID. GO TO ANOTHER AUCTION! By bidding on this vehicle you understand that your bid is based on what your opinion is of the vehicle. By bidding you understand that you are buying the vehicle as is, where is. By bidding you agree without question to hold seller harmless for any shortcomings, faults and problems that the vehicle has, may have, or may have in the future. By bidding you understand that this is an auction, and that if you win the item, you own the item, with no recourse whatsoever against the seller for any reason related to the quality of the vehicle. You understand that at time of pickup, there will not be a "test drive" period before payment or final payment. You may verify the vehicle and the VIN and the title to ensure it is the vehicle you purchased. Any "inspections" must take place before you win the vehicle, not after. You understand that when you arrive to pick up the vehicle that you will be given a clear title and the keys, and full payment is to be made. You clearly understand that this is an auction, and that the vehicle is sold with no warranty, and agree that you are basing your bid on your understanding of the vehicle, and not mine. All are welcome to test drive, inspect, and look at the vehicle, and ask questions before you bid on the vehicle. If you choose to bid, it is your choice, your responsibility, and if purchased, your vehicle. I do not have time for nitpicking, dealing with unreasonable people, or people who do not hold up their end of the bargain. I will not provide any refund, consideration, or partial refund for any reason. The bidder understands this clearly. I also will not deal with anyone who threatens legal action, takes legal action, or thinks that they are exempt from these conditions. The sellers responsibility begins and ends with providing the vehicle shown and displayed in the auction with a legal and clear title for the vehicle. The description is simply based on the opinion of the seller, and once again, all bids must be placed based on the bidders opinion of the vehicle. There are no exceptions to this policy. If you do not like it, then please do not bid. If you do not understand that without question this is AS IS, NO WARRANTY, then do not bid. The definition of "hold harmless" is in effect on this auction. If you have any questions regarding this policy, then call me anytime. If you have questions about the vehicle condition, please call, or stop by and inspect. I have high expectations from people I deal with, and will strive to do the same. Check the feedback, the vehicle, bid on what YOU think it is worth, and I will do my best to give the best experience possible. $750 deposit due within 24 hours of auction close via paypal or cash. If you use paypal for any payment, add 3% to the transaction to cover these fees. Balance of the payment to be made within 72 hours of auction close via paypal or cash. I am very easy to work with and care very much about providing great service and will do all I can to work with you and/or your shipper. Shipping is the buyers responsibility. Vehicle to be picked up within 2 weeks, but exceptions can be made. Just call me to let me know what is going on! Good luck! Mark 712.333.5897
