Car is orignially from VA/NC it's entire life. Yet to see a salty winter. Paint is in great condition. Strut towers, floor pans and rockers have zero rust!! Only cosmetic eye sore is 3 scratches down rear panel, PO said someone must've hit it with a grocery cart. He sealed the scratches with touch up paint so it wouldnt rust. I have yet to even find any bubbling in the paint.. the body is so clean as well as the interior. One of the previous owners tampered with the "smoke screw" on the injector pump which raised the exhaust gases and melted the pistons and rings on the original motor. So I sourced an 84 jetta with the same 1.6 n/a diesel motor, pulled it and replaced just about every thing in hopes of driving the car for another 350,000+ miles. The body has 200k miles on it as told by the history report. The block and injectors have 107k but EVERYTHING else has been replaced with new or remaned parts. New: -mechanical head NEW from parts place inc. -Every single gasket and seal you can name -Valve cover studs and head bolts -Oil pan baffle -Block has 107k and shows NO cylinder wear, otherwise I would've replace pistons & rings. -Water pump -Thermostat -Every sensor minus the coolant overflow tank -Tie Rod Ends -2.25 alumi exhaust and hangers -Exhaust gasket at down pipe & "C" clips -Timing belt & tensioner pulley -13% tint all around -All hose ishtty OEM hose clamps replaced with NEW twist tighten ones -All new hoses -AC recharged -Glow Plugs & copper piece -Block heater assembly -Chinese mk3 style door handles -Altenator/starter Good: -Axels look like a PO replaced -Vogtland 60mm cupkit -Ecodes w/ 8k HID's -Badgless 3bar grill -Weather stripping not dry rotted -Hot heat -g12 coolant (pink stuff) -Carpet and seats are MINT! no smokers** -Injector Pump on the car doesnt leak; has 107k on it -Comes with 2nd IP, but the smoke screw needs to be set to stock or close otherwise it would just melt the pistons. Ive kept it to sell or send in to Giles for rebuild. It does work just fine but has tiny leak until it warms up. -The crank open sun roof doesnt leak but there is a tiny spot of rust on the actual door but could be ground off and cleaned up easily. Bad: -On its 3rd cluster. -Speedometer cable unhooked behind cluster, just needs to be reattached* -Cannot seem to get 2nd "C" clamp onto exhaust near down pipe. (Think the new gasket needs to be compressed???) -Hose from water pump to pipe needs to be replaced. [I have the entire brand new set from PartsPlaceInc.com This was previously posted and it didnt run, re did the timing and got a new battery and she is good to go and the price is higher reflecting this. I'm hesitant on driving it because the head needs different sized shims. They clank a bit but nothing major, and who knows it might go away with some driving/breaking in the new head by getting it on the road. But as expensive as registration is and how tight money is right now- it might not see the road, just my street. Again, everything has pretty much been gone over on this car. The only thing it needs to be 100% are the above listed items. I have basically everything minus a shim kit.. I would re do them myself but I no longer have money to fund the project. I'm just trying to sell both of my mk2 jetta's and get in to a newer mkIV 20th anniversary edition GTI or TDI. I had plans to drive this until the wheels fall off and also do a vegetable oil set up and run it for free but I want something newer dispite my love for old school vw's. The car will come with a 2nd clutch, tranny, injector pump, and full set of coolant hoses for the full price. Anything lower and I keep the extra parts to sell and make up money. It has the OEM tear drop wheels on it and they're in great condition with center caps too. I have a set of (5) bbs mesh wheels off an E30 m3 that could come with the car too for extra $$$ if desired. I've put a little over a year into doing things the right way and not taking short cuts on getting this project done; again so I could keep this car running for as long as possible. But plans change, funds are cut, and I need something newer. I'm sure I've forgotten alot but I'll try to update if I come across anything I missed. Buyer is responsible for shipping/getting the car home. I accept paypal, cash, or bankers checks. But I will not move the car until the check clears.. There are too many scammers out there and Ive already recieved 3 fake checks in the past and I do not put up with people trying to scam me.
