Vehicle Detail

I'm selling this for my father. He bought it on 9/28/68 at a Ford dealer in Jacksonville, FL as the second owner, according to the buyer's order in the file. It's been sitting in their garage and rarely driven the last two decades. It's received regular maintenance during it's lifetime. Installed recently are new sway bar bushings, front drums, brake shoes all around, brake cylinders rebuilt, and front wheel bearings. Notes based on a review of the file and my memory: The paint color is code "Y" and described as "Silver Blue Poly". This is the original color and it was resprayed in 1981. So, the paint is old but still decent. The right side is nearly perfect but the left side has some nicks and two small dents (top rear quarter panel) from where something must have fallen into it. See pic. It was originally delivered with a white top with a plastic window. It was replaced with a black top and plastic window in 1981. Dad says it's missing the seal between the top and the windshield frame. The hydraulic mechanism works perfectly. The windshield is clear and has no chips so it's probably been replaced, as has the original blue dashboard. The driver's seat bottom cover has a long rip at the right bolster seam. It has factory air conditioning. The refrigerant has escaped over the decades. The compressor clutch engages properly and the original piston-type compressor turns freely when engaged. In 2004 it received a new fuel tank, sending unit, carburetor rebuild, tires, battery, and fuel pump. That was a while ago but it was only driven 75 miles since then. It comes with the original owner's manual and records as seen in the last pic.I took it for a long drive today and it handles quite well on curvy roads and expressways. Original 200 cu. in. motor is smooth and starts easily, hot or cold. The C-4 transmission shifts smoothly and it keeps up well with traffic. It handles more solidly than I expected. It doesn't have power steering or brakes, so that takes some getting used to. Call me (Bob) at 678.777.5220 to inspect the car this week. Or, email me through eBay. Car is offered for sale "as is" with no warranties either stated or implied. On Jun-20-11 at 05:22:27 PDT, seller added the following information: Additional information: It has a small oil leak from around the oil pan. Sorry I forgot to mention that material item last night. Dad rebuilt the top end in the late 70's. I think it was at 133k miles. I don't have the records with me right now. So, there's no smoke even on cold starts. On Jun-20-11 at 06:10:38 PDT, seller added the following information: Found out it came originally with a black top, not white. It was replaced with a white top in the early 70's when Dad had it painted a later model darker blue. Then it received the current black top and paint in 1981. Also, Dad points out the driver's window doesn't roll up easily. I agree. On Jun-21-11 at 07:51:46 PDT, seller added the following information: I mistakenly left off a $10k reserve when I placed the auction. I'm unable to add a "Buy it Now" but first $10k gets it in any case or I'll just let the auction end Sunday evening. -Bob
