Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 NO RESERVE! You are bidding on a 1974 Pontiac Trans Am. While this is a true “Y” code car (see VIN) that originally came with a 455, it now has a stock 1974 220hp 400 (block #481988). Interestingly, the 400 had 10 more HP than the 455 did that year. With a fire engine red exterior and black interior, this is a real head turner. Loaded with factory options including A/C, power windows, power steering, and a turbo 400 trans. The body on this car is very straight with no obvious dents. It does have rust in several areas, and I did my best to show these in the pictures. This car is from Florida and doesn’t show the effects of harsh Midwest winters. The deck lid has been replaced which is why the color on that is a bit different than the rest of the car. The trunk also has rust holes and will likely need to be repaired as well. The car runs and drives nice. Steering is nice and fairly tight. Tires are not in great shape so they will need to be replaced. Honeycomb mags are very cool and in great shape. The front two seats both have a tear in the same spot on the back rest portion of the seats. The bottom seating portions also have tears. The back seats are in great shape and appear to have seen very little use. Dash is nice along with the door panels, console, and headliner. All in all, this is a really nice T/A and rapidly becoming extremely desirable as well. If you have listened to any of the recent Mecum Auto Auctions, you would have heard the commentators talking about how hot these cars have become recently. Please feel free to send any and all questions you may have and I’ll respond quickly. Car can be seen and driven in person in Mt. Prospect, IL on most evenings. Also please note that I am not willing to ship this car. You can make arrangements on your own if you wish, but it needs to be picked up from my house in Mt. Prospect, IL. If you would like me to call you, just send your phone number along with your question and I’ll be happy to do so. I want to represent this car as accurately as possible and welcome questions. Good luck. Terms: $1,000 deposit via PayPal within 24 hrs of auction close. If not received by then, car will be offered to 2nd place bidder. Balance due either via PayPal before pickup or CASH at pickup. No personal, cashiers, Postal money orders or any other kind of checks will be taken as payment. No exceptions. Car must be picked up within 7 days of auction close. If you can’t accept these terms, please don’t bid. Thanks again and good luck.
