Vehicle Detail
1984 Honda Goldwing GL 1200 Aspencade, 111,331 miles, clear title. Bike fires up and rides, but not very well. It was sitting five years before I got it in April; I cleaned out the tank, replaced the fuel lines and filter, flushed and bled all the systems, put a brand new battery in it, and put a brand new Dunlop E3 on the back ($175 tire). The plastics/cosmetics on this bike are in good shape, no cracks/damage except the lens on one of the parking lights, the paint is aftermarket white pearl. The seat/backrests are in perfect condition. Has soft foam hand grips, Markland foot boards and highway peg/boards, wrap around windshield in great shape, and some add on driving lights. All the lights work (including the add ons) except for the turn signals. Emergency flashers work, but no signals, you can hear something trying to work, so I'm assuming it's a burned out flasher. The on-board compressor works and both front and rear suspension pressurize, radio also works and CB turns on and makes noise, but I have no idea if it actually works because I don't have a mic or head set for it. With the bike runing, the aftermarket volt meter shows the alternator is charging beautifully (that's a rediculous repair on these bikes). WHAT THE BIKE NEEDS: Because it's been sitting so long, the carbs are going to need to be cleaned thoroughly, and maybe rebuilt ($360 at a shop for cleaning and syncing). The front tire has flat spots from sitting so long without pressure in it, so going around turns it feels lumpy (around $150 installed). The valve cover gaskets are leaking ($30 for the set), and the fork seals are leaking, although not too bad ($20 if you do it yourself). As mentioned earlier, the turn signals don't work (should be under $20), and even though the radio works the bike will need both antennas replaced (should be under $30). But that's it, everything else is in really good shape, the brakes work great and have plenty of meat left on them, rotors are great, clutch works really well with good hard bite, shifts through all the gears smooth, so for about $600 and a couple weekends you get a really nice Goldwing. I have another Goldwing, and don't need two, not to mention all my other projects, meaning I don't have the time, money, or desire to mess with this bike. The issues with the carbs make the idle unpredictable, and when you twist the throttle sometimes you get no response, sometimes you get big response, couple that with the lumpy front tire and this bike shouldn't be ridden very far at all in its current condition, so plan on hauling it. I may be able to get a trailer and deliver to a reasonable distance within the phoenix metro area, but I'll only consider that for the full asking price. Everything in this ad is honest and upfront, so contact me with any questions I will respond as soon as possable. I'm asking $1600 or best offer, meaning I am reasonable and there is some wiggle room, but not a whole lot. Local buyers are prefered, but if you have a way to ship it, great. Here's the catch, I need the room in my garage, so if it's not gone by July 20th it will be parked outside, and the arizona sun is not very friendly this time of year. $500 non-refundable deposit due with buy it now, I don't play this "buy it and back out" crap, so don't click if you're not serious. I expect the rest to be paid within 10 days, again, if you don't have the money, don't click. Any out of state buyers who do not contact me before buying and do not make imediate down payment will automatically be reported to eBay as non paying bidders.
