1951 Chevy 2-ton flatbed dump truck. Very solid western truck. 235 6-cylinder, 4 speed single speed rear. There is no rot or rust through on this truck. Only surface rust. Good foundation for restoration or keep as an original survivor. Body paint is all original. Body looks better in pics than in person--has the battle scars of farm life. 47k miles. Truck stored indoors in North Dakota. Excellent tires. Front like new. Some cracked glass however easy fixes with inexpensive flat panel glass. All lights and horn work. Vacuum wiper motor works part time and will need attention. Dump hoist works perfect--very strong. Truck starts easy, doesn't overheat and runs smooth. Needs valve adjustment. Have new pan and valve cover gaskets. If I were to keep this truck as a long range investment I would rebuild engine. It's in good condition and has never been apart in 60 years and would last another 100 years rebuilt. Brake drums, linings and cylinders very good as is master cylinder. I suspect hydro-vac might need rebuilding. Clutch in good shape. All gauges work and interior good and solid however looks like a 60 year old farm truck. E-brake works very good. Overall a great old truck to have lots of fun with. Payment in full 3 days after auction end. Truck is located in western Suffolk county, Long Island, NY.
