Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my beautiful 1995 E320 Cabriolet. This was the last year of the cars availability in the US. The cost was over $80,000 when new. This cabriolet was owned by a woman who lived at the, "Penthouse"... Ocean Ave, Santa Monica, Ca. (so states the Ca. registration). With the sale of the car is a copy of the Ca. registration. This information may be of some use if the car should re-enter California. I purchased the vehicle about three years ago from a dealer in Colorado. I had the registration changed from its original Ca. title. The car has 48,500 currently, or will have by the time the auction ends. I drove it from Denver to Santa Fe, then to Albuq., New Mexico where it now resides. I put on approximately 1500 miles since i purchased the vehicle. This particular marque looks great in several exterior colors. I looked for this particular color and trim combination for some time. The Smoke Silver exterior has a beautiful silvery/gold richness to it. The interior leather color is called Mushroom. The front seats are in very good condition. The seats had a bit of restoration to what might have been light tears or cracks in the perforated seat cushions. The seats also were given a light re-spray. The back seats are near perfect. I purchased a set of OEM wool Mercedes floor mats to match the original wool carpeting. The interior wood is in beautiful condition. However, I believe that there is one small ( 1") crack in the varnish on the console, and another equally small crack on the upper panel. From memory, there are three small gravel chips. I also believe there is a small paint scuff on the front right lower airdam. See the new picture of the front corner. I now notice that there are two very small cracks in the console varnish. This is quite a common issue and is easy to repair. The radio/cd changer works well, though I suspect that the right, front speaker has a slight tear in it. I hear a buzzing with the volume turned up. These are easily sourced and replaced (often seen on ebay), and is a DIY repair. The car is in Albuquerque, so could ship north or south, east or west quite directly. I will be in Albuquerque from June 25 thru June 30th. The car will need to be picked up by this date as I will be leaving town and returning home. While I am in town I will update this listing with more information. Contact me for further questions or pictures. Regarding the cars mechanics, they are fine. One of the photos shows the wiring harness. This was replaced by the dealer and is on the Carfax. I had a 40,000 mile service done when I brought the car to NM. There was an inspection of the brakes and they all checked out fine. Done by a former Mercedes mechanic, I supplied him with Mercedes filters and fluids purchased from the dealer. The cost for this was $400.00 or so. I also had him remove the alarm/remote, which was not a factory option. I was told by my mechanic that these units could drain a cars battery. The removal was an extra fee. I have kept these parts, and should the new owner want, they may request these parts. I also had the mechanic install a new Mercedes battery at $180.00 cost. This was purchased from the MB dealer in Albuq. My mechanic also removed the cell phone and holder that show in one of the interior photos. I had a new German canvas brown top installed. The original was a bit sun bleached from all of its years in California. The tops cables were re-greased and the elastics replaced. The top raises and lowers just fine. The headliner is without rips. This was a costly service, but well worth it. Also installed were four new Michelin tires. I believe there are Primacy MXV4. These were recommended as the best for both ride and handling. I would say they have less than 1000 miles on them. The front seat belt extenders both work well, no problems. Both front seat warmers work. All windows (front and back) work. All signals, lights, horn, wipers, and cruise control work. The power headrests and seat controls are working. The antenna raises-lowers. Air conditioning runs strong as does the heat. I have the original owners manual in its black case, all booklets and the owners manual showing the original service history. I also have the official Mercedes Benz Fahrzeugdaten (data card) that comes with the car when new, showing all of its factory specs. During its Calif. residency (most of its life) this Benz had Mercedes Dealer Service. It has never seen snow and the undercarriage is in great condition, without any rust. The exhaust is great without holes or issues. I replaced one of the 15.5 inch wheels with a used, very clean one. I will include the spare. The car passed its New Mexico emissions inspection two tears ago without needing any adjustment. The car runs very well. The registration needs to be updated, as it has expired. I will be in town working, so will have limited access to getting to the storage facility once work begins. I will be in town this Sat. morning and will review and update the mileage, take a photo of the vin and update more information on the car at that time. If you are looking for a beautiful E320 that has been well taken care of, you would be happy with this vehicle. I will miss the handsome looks of this classic Mercedes, but even more, i will miss driving this vehicle. On the open road it cruised smoothly at over 75 mph. And, at these speeds it handles like a dream. The car is very quiet, and solid like a rock. To then extent i can, I am willing to help facilitate the loading of the vehicle onto your supplied transport. I cannot be held liable however. You are responsible for pick up and or shipment of the car, by the stated date. I have a Mercedes windscreen, (wind deflector) that is hard to find for this car. I will INCLUDE this item with the sale of the car. Serious parties, please ask all questions you have early. My time at the cars storage area will be limited. I will be visiting the storage area tomorrow, sat 21, possibly again on Wed 25th, and finally on Sunday the 29th in the morning. Please email me at least a day prior to those days listed. My thanks to the ebayer who informed me of the listing error in the vin no. Thanks greatly. I will be in Albuquerque from June 25 thru June 30th. The car will need to be picked up by this date as I will be leaving town and returning home. While I am in town I will update this listing with more information. Contact me for further questions or pictures. Please only bid if you are willing to pay on time. I will need a $3000.00 deposit within 48 hours. The balance upon pickup...no later than Sun. June 5th. I have updated the mileage. The car has 48,500 miles. Full payment after that. I am leaving town on the following weekend. Car must be picked up by then, or it will be returned to storage. Please be serious about paying and pickup if you bid. Have financing in place please and shipping quote before bidding. I have a windscreen for the car, it will be offered to the winning bidder... On Jun-17-11 at 07:50:23 PDT, seller added the following information: Just to reiterate. My time in Albuquerque will be limited. I arrive in Abuquerque on June 25th and will be departing at noon on June 30th. The car is in a storage facility about 15 minutes (and a twenty dollar cab ride) from the airport. I will need a $3000.00 deposit on the car within 48 hours of the auctions close. The balance of the payment must be paid upon pick up of the vehicle, with a bank or certified check. The plates on the car are not current, they expired several months ago. Thank you for your understanding, and good luck with the auction.
