1971 Firebird Formula 455 Ram Air, very rare muscle car. Car has 57,300 miles the 455 engine was rebuilt by a Speed shop in Torrington CT six years ago and has less than 1000 miles, engine was balanced and blueprinted with new Eagle crank, rods, pistons, 565 lift roller cam, roller rockers, 750 Holley DP carb, Hooker super comp headers, all high perfomance parts 6500.00 into engine. Automatic transmission with 3500 stall converter, TCI linelock, 410 posi rear end, subframe connectors, traction bars, flowmaster exhaust. Factory fiberglass Ram Air hood, factory rally wheels, spoilers. Interior is in good condition, factory tach and guages work, factory console, carpet has wear, B&M shifter installed in console years ago. Body is in good condition was repainted by a body shop 10 years ago there is some paint cracking only on the fiberglass hood and front nose piece I tried showing it in pictures, there are 2 small rust areas bubbling near the bottom corner of the door as shown in pictures, floors look original and solid, the horn and ebrake are not working, I do not have the original air cleaner or radio. Car has factory front disk brakes, and heavy duty sway bars, this car is a monster its very fast, I recently purchased it I always liked this year Firebird but I am a Ford guy, the previous owner had it for 10 years and never raced it, will be sold with Connecticut Bill of Sale and registration, Connecticut does not issue titles on vehicles over 25 years old. This is a great investment not many Formula 455,s around.On Jun-13-11 at 17:21:57 PDT, seller added the following information: Click on this link for video of the car on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B_J4w15IJWwOn Jun-15-11 at 15:12:43 PDT, seller added the following information: Ive been getting lots of emails asking if this is a numbers matching car, from what I can tell the block could be the numbers I found are 455 on bottom side of block near engine mount, 485428 on rear of block passenger side near distributor, C562644 on front of block under head, DN 0087 on head I dont think the heads are original they seem to have a 67 casting date. Also there are some paint touch up spots only on the hood, and the rear bumper chrome is not great should be rechromed, I looked inside the valve cover hole for the breather and the head still looks new, the roller rockers are adjustable copper orange color aluminum high performance ones, this is a nice motor.On Jun-17-11 at 19:03:45 PDT, seller added the following information: Another ebay member has just told me block casting 485428 is a late 71 block and would not be the original block to this car.
