1953 Ford Half Ton Pickup Glacier Blue Full Frame Off Restoration 239 HP Flathead V8, 4-Speed This Vehicle was fully restored, and has less than 600 miles on it since restoration, and has been driven sparingly, and is very tight. The restoration process was "frame-off", and includes the following notable points: Frame was fully sandblasted, and repainted. Front end king pins were replaced, and the braking system fully rebuilt. Steering gear box was rebuilt with NOS ford kit. Transmission was professionally inspected, and deemed not to need a rebuild. Manual clutch plate was rebuilt, and balanced. Ford flathead V8 was rebuilt, and crankshaft, and pistons balanced. The two gentlemen that worked on the rebuild were in their late 60's at the time, and worked on these engines when new. In full disclosure; the original block was freeze cracked. The past owner still has it. Another 8RT block was used with the original engine parts from the original engine. Starter motor, and generator were rebuilt. Dennis Carpenter rebuilt carburetor. Rebuilt water pumps. New correct fabric braided reproduction wiring harness. NOS voltage regulator. All rubber seals, bushings, and weather-stripping replaced with new reproduction , or NOS parts. NOS seat frame rails. All brackets, and clips were repainted or replated as required. NOS or new badges, door handles, dash bezels, and knobs. NOS tail gate. New bed sides, and front. NOS FOMOCO head lamps. NOS vent window glass, and NOS rear glass. Side windows etched with correct FOMOCO symbols. NOS window regulators. All sheet metal stripped, cleaned, and primed with two stage epoxy type primer. Rear cab corners were replaced with patch panels. All other sheet metal parts are original with minor metal work. This isn't a bondo job truck! Bring your magnet gauge. Seat frame sandblasted, and repainted, and recovered with NOS period seat fabric. NOS steering wheel, and NOS 50th Anniversay Horn Button. NOS door latches. Rebuilt hood hinges. Replated hood latch. Original fasteners were replated.
