This is a 1990 SL500 that needs some TLC or would be an excellent parts car - before we (my wife started this listing as I really hate to sell the car) revised this posting it said "as reflected by the price", but after looking at the car again for the first time in a long time, the price reflects exactly what the situation is: desperation; in fact, I only recently replaced the transmission with a new one and the transmission itself cost $3,500.00. I am only selling it because I lost my job - my tragedy may be your good fortune. It runs well, the motor is strong and the transmission has less than 5K miles on it, but to be perfect knick-knack items may need attention; I cannot tell you what those items would be because I do not know of any, but I assume that a 20 year old car that has been idle for the last three years will need some attention and in the interest of full disclosure I am letting you know. More full disclosure: in some places the paint is not in great condition and there are two dings on the passenger side door and a dent on the passenger side rear corner of the car (we will take pictures), but the paint is much better than the price suggests - just take a look at the photos. The interior is in good condition with the following exceptions: there are some hairline cracks in the center console, there is tear down the middle of the driver's side seat cushion, and the driver's side seat has some wear on the lower seat bolster; the passenger side seat has the beginnings of a tear down the middle and there is a door pocket lid that needs to be reattached. The headliner is loose, the hard top release is not working properly and the soft top will need to be replaced.
