Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE NO RESERVE! HIGHEST BIDDER WINS! This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION for a real 1965 Buick Skylark Gran Sport. It had been sitting for 23 years. I trailered it home pressure washed it and gave it a bath. I put a set of 14x7 chrome road wheels on it (the rear tires are nice and the fronts are just okay), put a set of points and a battery in it (battery not included), added an auxiliary gas can to it and it started right up. I had the 1964 401 cubic inch motor running for 3-4 minutes, no smoke, no knocks (I'm not sure if this is the original motor or not. I don't think it is, but I'm not a Buick guy). It actually sounded really good, hitting on all 8 cylinders; however, the mufflers will need to be replaced. It has a 2-speed powerglide transmission. It has factory bucket seats with console (no tachometer), power steering and a remote mirror. It was originally white with a black painted top. The floors and trunk are solid with minor rust (shown). It will need bodywork. It has bondo in the front driver’s side fender and in both rear quarters. There is rust in the rear window area and the metal will need to be replaced. It has a new front windshield and the windshield area is not rusted out. It does not have the original air cleaner. The interior is all there but needs to be redone, i.e., seat covers, carpet, headliner, etc. The center console is nice, no cracks. It is missing the original radio and antenna. The original boxed frame is in great shape, no rust, cracks or scale. The battery is on the driver's side. And from what I've been told, that is Gran Sport only. Stamped #’s on front of valley pan: 582 KT 8K1180387 (1964 401 - Riviera????) Head #’s 1196914 Intake Date: D – 2 – 4 and part # 1362782 Carburetor: 39215 D 5 (original D5 date carburetor) Trim tag: 2D ST – 65 – 44437 BODY BF 4682 TR – 158 PAINT CA A ACC – B70 187 To sum it up, the car is a great restoration project. It does run but is not drivable. It will need attention to the brakes, a battery, carb. rebuild, etc. It’s mostly all there. It’s not a rusty car. It has a clean California title. If you would like a walk-around description over the phone or have any questions, feel free to give me a call, Mike, (760) 519-3478. You’re also welcome to come look at the car. Email me if you need more pictures. For you overseas buyers, I have a car trailer and can deliver the car to the shipper in Long Beach for $275. For buyers that are in the Midwest or on the east coast, I have used a shipping company named Hanover Transport. You can contact Tom Reid at TOM@HANOVERTRANSPORT.COM for a shipping quote give him my zip code (92003) and your zip code. I just shipped two non-operational cars, one to Georgia (from California) and it was $1,000 and one to Kentucky from CA and it was $1,100, just to give you an idea of the current costs. This vehicle is being sold as is with no implied warranty. Payment to be paid in full within 7 days of the end of the auction and pickup within 21 days unless other arrangements are agreed upon.
