Vehicle Detail
1949 FORD 2 DOOR SEDAN+++FLATHEAD V8 ENGINE+++OLD SCHOOL NO RUST PROBLEMS+++VERY NICE CLOTH INTERIOR VIN 98BA659845 MILEAGE: 1286 showing and I'm sure its turned once. TITLE: Clear Tennessee title in hand. HISTORY: I traded for this car from another man here in Tennessee. I can not document anything other than the Tennessee title, all I'm going to tell you below is how I see the car as a 64 year old car restorer, past auto mechanics intstructor, Amry helicopter mechanic and instructor. I'm now retired and playing with these old car! FROM MY INSPECTING it looks like the car had a frame off rotisory restoration a few years ago. The reason I say this is from my underside inspection, everything looks like it was disasembled, cleaned and restored. The mounts are great, things are painted and mounted back right. You can tell from looking at things like nuts and bolts that are clean and not rusted up. The floors and frame look very nice. Thsi is my opinion, its not documented. My guess is middle of 2007, because thats the last date of title change and the restoration is cured. IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS? None that I can find. IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE? None that I can find. WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR? I’m a classic car restorer, but when I find a car I like, can sell for a fair market price and make a few bucks, I buy it fix a few things and resell. PAINT: It looks very nice just to look and not inspect, "it is drive and enjoy quality". No dents, no rust, no dings, the car is pretty straight to look down the sides and the car has a very good shine. The biggest defect is in the corner of the hood, it has a big crack that is covered with a stripe, the hood hinge system was junk on these cars. If anything went wrong they cracked in the center, what is mean by wrong, mis-alignment, thight hinges due to no lube, lift too far up and too hard and other things. They were not supported enough on the back hinge corners!. The hood also has a couple of other very fine cracks. The paint is nice, its just not a perfect car. CHROME: Nice! INTEROR: Very nice cloth and vinyl interior with no wear, no smoke smell, the headliner is nice, I could only fine 2 pea size spots on the bottom of the back seat. UNSERSIDE: Nice with no rusted holes or swelled places and no rust probloems at all. GLASS: . All the glass is nice and the 2 door glass roll up and down good, I only found a very thin crack in one side of the upper right corner of the windshield. ENGINE: The engine is a strong running flathead V8. It has a two carb set up, Fenton headers, aluminum Big Boy heads, new hoses and belts. The electrical is 12 volt with a 1 wire chrome alternator. EXHAUST SYSTEM: Good! Its dual with Fenton headers and old school glass pac mufflers. TRANSMISSION: Nice shifting 3 speed manual. REAR-END: No whines or growls. BRAKES: Good, they are drums all around. STEERING: Good, the car drives great, it is not power steering. WHEELS AND TIRES: Tires are radials with good tread, the rims are original steel and the hubcaps old school 4 bar spinners. 1 tire has a bubble on the side, local tire store owner said it was just cosmitic. LIGHTS: They work, turn signals work, headlights work, tail lights work and brake lights work. GUAGES: They work. SPEEDOMETER WORKS! No wipers! GAS GAUGE WORKS! Horn works! CLOCK WORKS! LIGHT WORKS! HEATER BLOWER WORKS! PARKING BRAKE WORKS! HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE? I think they open and close good! One door is out just a little. No door locks, the car has stick on racing flag logos over the holes. Could be added if you want to, they are available. TRADES: Please no trades, they never work out and are just to hard! The rest of the information is boring unless you are really interested in buying the car, its just buying details like shipping, paperwork, who I am, where the car is located and how to pay and contact information. CONTACT INFO: my cell is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about 8:00 PM Eastern Time or on Sunday morning or Sunday nights. Please leave a voice mail and I’ll get back. I do check my emails several times a day. cell 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com THE GAME: I don’t play the game like most sellers! I tell you who I am, how to contact me, where the vehicle is located, lots of details and welcome you to come and look at the vehicle. I don’t put my vehicles up for auction because it a big joke, most sellers just have their buddy’s bid the auction up to what they want. Read the who your buying from section, I’m 64 years old, I have been a auto mechanics instructor, was an instructor in the US Army aviation school for Chinook helicopters and sold a good business to retire and play with classic cars. PAPERWORK: I know what to do! We are just a father/son 2 man operation, but we are a Tennessee licensed/bonded car dealer and have sold cars all over the US and exported many. THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the car “come look”. I RESERVE TH RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE LOCAL MARKET. WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED: The car is here at my home in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles south of Knoxville. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights. WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, Tennessee “Athens is called the friendly city”. We are located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee. I am 64 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 38. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. For 12 years I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s, I did spend a year in Vietnam. I’m Southern Baptist faith and proud to be an American. I’ve been married to the same good woman for almost 41 years. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE! TRANSPORT: EBAY MOTORS gives 3 instant transport quotes if you click on the link on my listing. US OR EXPORT “the best”: Classic Car Transport, LLC: This is a very good company that will handle any type of transport in the US or overseas with the white glove treatment. Call Bill Cunningham at 913-749-0930 Email billc@classiccartransport.com MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens, Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75) and 35 miles south of interstate 40, so transport is usually very fast. PAYMENT: I require a $250 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car. Option 1: Pay the old school way face to face. Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the check clears, I have had a fake bank certified check. Option 3: The safest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a member of the US Federal Reserve, this is called wire transfer. Option 4: Pay Pal is good, but it cost a lot. It cost me around 3%, I will take it, but you will have to add 3% to the price. INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspections are required to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 64 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards, this may not be yours. Paid inspectors are unpredictable, you might get a good one, but most of them do not impress me at all, most really don’t know what to look at, they make a good car sound bad on the report. They have to be very critical to cover their back sides and all their concerned about is getting paid. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking, but I think you should come look yourself. I don’t like paid inspectors, I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear, don’t hit the buy now button and then inspect, come inspect first! TRADES: Please no trades! BOTTOM LINE: My firm price is $14,650 and I will be asking $16,850 at the big car shows. The game is not rocket science, ask a price and come down. It’s not fun to bargain over the cell phone all day long with people that live 2000 miles away and are not going to buy anyway. My firm price is the Buy Now price. I have sold every car I have ever tried to, so I’m not motivated to be bargained down. PLEASE!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! PLEASE!!!!! Come look at this vehicle. Please don’t hit the Buy Now button unless your ready to really buy it! Do your research, call me with questions, read my feed backs, I am ebay verified; this means they say I’m a real person in a real place. I WILL BE VERY HAPPY TO SELL YOU THE VEHICLE WITH-OUT AN INSPECTION; YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE A LOT OF NERVE AND PLEASE DON’T BE A CRY BABY. Read the ME section on the upper right hand part of the listing marked seller info. Thank You, Ron Watson cell: 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com IS THERE A WARRANTY? No!
