Vehicle Detail
Our 1979 TR-7 is in great condition inside & out as well as mechanically. We're asking $5100.00 OBO. At last Septembers Colorado English Motoring Conclave in Denver (over 500 British cars and bikes) it was awarded the Second in Class Award. It was awarded a Second Place Award from the Rocky Mountain Triumph Club at their show within a show September 2010. It has always been garaged and kept under a car cover, the cover also goes with the car. The 5-Speed Transmission and clutch have less than 2,500 miles on them. The Clutch Master Cylinder, Slave Cylinder, and K&N Air Filters have approx. 400 miles on them. You can tell from the pictures that the top is less than a year old. Even at our altitude here in Colorado (6-7000 ft) the TR-7 runs great. It will run up and down I-25 in 5th gear at 75mph at 2800-2900 rpm's all day long. It gets 28-32 mpg on the Interstate and 20-24 mpg around town. I also have 2-3 storage containers full of spare parts. As you can see in the pictures the body and paint are in great shape with the exception of a scratch on the left year quarter panel (fender). It is originally a California car, there isn't any rust anywhere on the car. I bought the TR-7 from the second owner who owned it since 1987 and always kept it covered in the garage. I've had it for 3 years and as stated above it's been garage kept and covered. Along with the excellent over all condition it only costs me $150 a year for full coverage with the collectors car insurance policy I have. The factory water chokes were replaced with manual chokes. The passenger seat is in fine shape, the drivers seat is worn on the upper left bolster (bolster closest to the drivers door), other than that it's in good shape as well. This TR-7 is one of the few 30th Anniversary SCCA D Production Champion cars. Finances and the economy are forcing the sale of our TR-7, I've hung on as long as I could and the time has finally come. Another reason to buy this great TR-7 is the fact you can drive it to the Vintage Triumph Register National Convention in Breckenridge, Colorado this August 2011 without fear of needing any work.
