Vehicle Detail
Selling my 2003 Saab Vector 9-3 4 door sedan. It's in good to great shape cosmetically. Inside is clean, leather all around. Has pretty much every option you could ask for besides the sun roof. I couldn't deselect that option in the description. It has the airbags all around the side of the interior. It has the auto/manual electronic transmission option. If you want to drive it in the manual mode you can shift by moving the gear selector like a stick or shift with the buttons on the steering wheel. There are absolutely no problems with the performance of the vehicle, I would have no reservations getting in the vehicle to drive it on a cross-country trip, it's been reliable and fun. It's super quick. With the addition of one in our family, it's time to move on to something bigger. The car averages about 26 mpg according to the HUD. Now for the blemishes, the biggest one would be the engine light is on. I had it checked at our local AutoZone and it came back with invalid exhaust air temperature. I talked to the previous owner who said they had hit a raccoon and it knocked out a fresh air intake sensor on the front bumper. If you look closely at the pic of the front of the car, you can see where the underskirting had been removed at the bumper. That's the problem. To put the skirt back on and get a new sensor, it was estimated at about 500 bucks. It doesn't effect the performance at all, but something you guys in California should be aware of if looking at the car. I'm not sure what that means for your emissions tests, if anything. But as I said before, it doesn't effect the car at all, I just chose not to reset the sensor so everyone knew what it was. Also, the fuel gauge doesn't work. Apparently that's fairly common with this car. The sending unit is out and would need replaced. I had it priced out through my mechanic to replace the entire fuel pump at $250. We decided to sell the car so we aren't fixing it. Again, the car runs great, so we aren't worried, it's just a convenience factor. As of now, you fill up the tank, reset the odometer, and drive for 300 miles. Finally, it could use a software upgrade from a Saab dealer. This car is so electronic that it periodically needs updated to adjust all the functions within the vehicle. Everywhere I read online says to do it every so often, and I don't believe that has been done. Price wise I have no idea, but everything I read says it's reasonable, I would assume less than $200, but I'm just shooting from the hip. Again, car runs fine now, but would assume if you want every little detail named, this is pertinent info. I've been more than critical of this vehicle in the description so I can't imagine why anyone would be disappointed with my information. Overall the looks of the vehicle are an easy 9/10, the interior is relatively spotless. No prominent scratches, dents, dings, or anything on the exterior. The emblems could be replaced, they are faded, but they're around 10 bucks a pop on ebay. Mechanically the car drives probably about an 8.5/10, it's super quick, fun, all that, but does need the fuel gauge fixed and the front sensor replaced or reset. What you decide to do is entirely your call. I'm not interested in trades or paying for shipping or driving it to Alaska to drop it off. If you purchase the vehicle I will require a $1000 deposit within 24 hours of the close or I will relist the item. Rest of payment is due on pickup of the vehicle by either cash or certified bank check. No excuses. I'm not going to deal internationally. The closest airport would be Fort Wayne, Ind. which is about 45 minutes away, or Indianapolis which is probably an hour and a half away. Any questions, feel free to ask. NADA value has an average trade in value of $4,525, but it's in much better condition than that. Clean trade said $5,425 with a clean retail of $7,925. I think what I'm asking is pretty fair.
