Vehicle Detail

Hi! I'm selling this car for my brother in law. It's a 1985 Ford LTD Crown Victoria. For being unrestored and not doctored up in any way, in other words, as original as original gets, then you found a sweetheart of a car. The car is beautiful. The body is in great shape as well as the interior and engine compartment for a 1985. The engine is nice and dry underneath- see pic. It honestly looks and smells like it has 6,000 original miles. I am selling it as 106,000 miles. Pictures tell the condition of the car. No big dents, rust spots etc to speak of. Since it is an original expect a small spot or door ding here or there. If I did see any I would mention it! I didn't detail the car with paint, etc, so what you see is what it is. Never smoked in. Good tires. Freezing cold air conditioning. No warning lights. All power accessories work, including windows and locks and cruise, and lights. Carpet is original and right out of the showroom. It is UNREAL clean and it is NOT DETAILED! It is PRETTY AS A PICTURE and CLEAN AS A TACK! It has sat for sometime so although it runs fine and starts right away every time, I would recommend a tuneup. When you drive it once in a while you will smell burning brake smell. I think something is hung up there. Again, it hasn't been driven forever. Previous to my brother in law, it was a one owner car (elderly businessman). The title did transfer between husband and wife in 2006 so that will probably show up. I wouldn't be afraid to drive it anywhere, but I would recommend the tuneup a and a good checkover as you would any car of this vintage before taking a trip. Issues are as follows: The hood has a small and not very noticeable crease where it shuts on the driver side where the spring is attached. It is so tight that is why it buckled a little. However, by simply pushing it back down it pretty much fixed it and it's not noticeable unless you really look. Needs a new muffler / pipe. It's on there but it's old. Tuneup. On highway it's no race horse and I think it just needs driven and tuned up. It runs great, always starts first time, doesn't smoke or leak, but I would tune it up especially for a long long highway drive. Once again, this is a car that I think you could drive anywhere, as it's never quit, it runs smooth and it's jus not been driven forever. It's a very nice 1985 car. If I knew of any other issues I would mention it. Overall it is exceptional for a 1985 but not perfect, because it is not restored. Do not expect perfection!! I have sold vehicles on EBAY for myself or others (including Nissan, VW, and several other car and pickup diesels) and have made every transaction a great one, so bid often, and bid with confidence!! Every person comments to me how I overdescribe, underpromise, and overdeliver, and this is my goal (see feedback!)!!! By the way on the last car (Ford Escort diesel), the dipstick was not tight on the car and when the guy "test drove" it when he got here it spit oil everywhere out of the dipstick tube, which is why it "failed" his inspection. When we looked at it there was such a mess I had no idea that it was from the dipstick. I took it to mechanic immediately and found out it was the dipstick and called the guy asap but he passed on car which was fine, and we stayed friends. The car is fine and sold again. It was just a weird deal, and I didn't make the guy buy it, because I understand he was freaked out, as I was too! Anyways, I just wanted to speak to that feedback. This car is sold AS IS with no warranty. NO WARRANTY means exactly what it means. I welcome and invite anyone to check it out before you bid. In buying the car you understand that there is no recourse for any problems or repairs you might incur and you hold the seller harmless for any shortcoming you experience in buying or owning the car. I described this to the best of my ability and if I thought or knew of anything it needed, I would mention it! For shipping, you should check on www.auto-car-transport.com and they will get you about 7 different rates from good carriers. You will probably see the quote come back at about $700 or so. I have shipped about 5 vehicles both out and in and have had 100% good experience with it. I will work with your shipper if needed. Clear Nebraska title (it's my brother in laws car), and ready to pick up when you pay in full. $750 non refundable deposit due within 24 hours of auction close (paypal OK), and full amount due within 5 business days of auction close. If you do use paypal, then add 2.9% to the price which you use paypal, otherwise you can send a cashiers check or bring cash. Delivery and pickup is buyers responsibility, but I will assist in any way possible. Ponca is within 30 minutes of Sioux City Iowa. We are very close driving distance to Minneapolis, Des Moines, Omaha, Kansas City, Sioux Falls, and even Denver/Chicago. Again, TRUST THE FEEDBACK and trust this 1985 classic! It is a super good find. Good luck!! My phone number is 712.333.5897. TRUST THE FEEDBACK!! Please call or email if you have any questions. Mark
