Offered at auction: This Honda 50 was bought new by my father in ’69. Not being a dirt bike, it was all but ignored by us kids. It was used as a trainer in the yard for my little brother and sister, more than on the road, and even that was minimal. The speedometer cable came loose in the shroud at 77 miles and was never reattached till last week when I cleaned it up for sale on ebay. This little bike has not ran or been moved for at least 30 years, I flushed out the tank, cleaned out the carburetor, bought a new battery, and changed the oil, and it fired right up; put a little more air in the tires and it ran and drove like new. My folks have a drive in basement, and it was stored in a back corner, in a cool, dry, out of the sun place. The tires are original and in great shape; no weather cracks. The chrome is almost perfect. The paint is not faded and other than a few scratches from weeds and an occasional lay-over in the yard, it’s in great shape. The seat has some kind of overspray on it and is somewhat stained around the edge from what I believe is skin oils, but there are no cracks or rips. The overspray rubs off easy enough, but I cleaned up the paint and just got tired of cleaning. Look at the pics, the little bike looks like new! The battery cover is broke around the knob, but is not a problem and is barely visible. All original paperwork is still with it.
