Up for auction is our sons 1996 Honda Accord which I own.. with 170000 it may have a few miles more. I'm still driving it * very short trips per day*. Now about the car. Our son was driving it to three colleges from 2002 to about Jan 2011. After he graduated he started teaching at 3 universities on long island a lot of the small dents you see are from the parking lots at the schools plus the bad snow storms we had this winter. Repairs were always done to the car that had to be done. If something had to be repaired then it was repaired. The car was always safe to drive. When the car was inspected in dec 2010 it failed inspection. Here's what was done to make it pass. >>the spark plug tube seals had to be replaced both upper and lower the valve train had to come off the top of the engine, plus the valves were adjusted, new front brake pads.. The complete ERG system was removed from the top the engine and cleaned -new spark plugs- the drivers inner tie rod replaced. About 3 years ago both CV joints were replaced.New timing belt water pump plus belts at 120000 miles.The brakes plus rotors were always changed to keep the car safe. The car drives good.. The Auto transmission shifts well. the engine runs well It still gets good gas mileage.The air Cond works. The radio is a CD MP3 player with display of the songs it has a great sound. **The front windows go up and down the back don't go down it could be a bad ground my son was told** There are snow tires on it the tires took him to and from school never missed a class in all the snow we had ..It also comes with 4 tires on Aluminum wheels tires are about 3 years old.There is a sun roof *after Market type* It does not work it has been sealed to make it leak proof. This car would be great for a person who knows how to keep it running . I see some of these Hondas on Ebay with 450000 on then I can't believe someone would buy a car with 450000 on it But they do and THEY SELL ! **********************PLEASE NOTE************************* WHEN I HAD THE OIL CHANGED THE MECHANIC POINTED OUT A LEAK AT THE OIL PAN I HAD MY PHONE WITH ME SO I TOOK A PICTURE OF IT. A Honda Mechanic can to look at the car for his friend. He lookes at the oil leak and said" it's not the oil pan that's leaking it's the CAMSHAFT seal that's leaking. he started the car put a mirror with a flash light and showed me where the oil is coming from. Yes I saw oil. So please be aware of this . he said it's not a big job but it should be done. he also said he would change the timing belt at that time being there's 50,000 miles on the old one. If any bidder wants to pull his bid I understand and please do so. his friend still wanted to buy the car but I said "I'll put this news on my listing".
