Vehicle Detail

1970 Plymouth Fury Gran Coupe 383 4BBL Automatic, 8 & 3/4 Rear End, Paisley Interior, A/C, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Rear Defrost feature! HIDEAWAY Headlights! Power Bulge Hood with engine call-outs with probably one of the coolest features ever seen on a C-body: Hood Turn Signal indicators in the bulge/scoops on the hood! Unique in-dash rectangle Tach! I have the Fender Tag & the Broadcast sheet! Added items: Mopar Aluminum 4BBL intake manifold (originally a 2BBL), Edelbrock AVS Thunder 650 carburetor - (BRAND NEW $400 carb) - Electric choke, ACCEL ignition coil, 8mm Blue plug wires, NGK plugs, Mopar Electronic Ignition conversion: Distributor / Ignition box / Ballast resistor, Chrome air cleaner & new filter, Brake master cylinder. All these items were added to make it run like a champ! Original 2BBL setup (carb & intake) & all other components will go with the vehicle too if you want the original parts. The Fury fires right up - with the electric choke, goes right to cold idle, then warm idle, then hot idle....no fiddling around, revving up and stalling and re-starting! The paint color is called Walnut Poly - original color, has Paisley inserts on the front and rear seats, as well as inserts on the door panels. Had a Paisley vinyl top, which was in poor shape, so I removed most of it. Very nice Aluminum 'Drag/Street Star'-type wheels with RWL Modifier S 255/70R15 on the rear and RWL Kelly Charger 215/65R15 tires on the front. (Original steel wheels with hubcaps and very good condition tires available - in fact, if you don't care for the Aluminum wheels we can work out something where I could buy them back - they were meant for another vehicle, but I thought looked good on the Fury). EXTRA (NEW) parts also: NEW quarter panel skins & NEW Levant grain Black Vinyl top go with the Fury! The Walnut paint is in very good condition as you can see in the photos - shines up very nice! The quarter panels on the bottoms and right above the wheel well have had filler in them and it is bubbling out - I bought extremely hard to find quarter skins to put on. Or, you can use filler to repair them again, but new metal is included. The doglegs on the front fenders have a little filler in them also - one crack on one side and a few small bubbling areas on the other. The rest of the body is straight and in great shape! The door bottoms are in very good shape, the floor pans are in excellent shape retaining original paint! Trunk pan and extensions are solid and retain original paint. Firewall and hinge areas in very good shape. The doors, trunk and hood all close as new - very solid and correct. All glass is in good shape. I removed the carpet. The dash has a couple cracks in it as shown. The front driver's side of the seats has a substantial tear in it as well as a crackled headrest. The rest of the seats are in pretty good shape. The bench-style seat with a buddy seat/armrest is neat, but I did purchase late model heated and power bucket seats (black) with the intentions of converting. The headliner is in pretty good shape - a couple small rips - nothing excessive. All the exterior trim is in great shape! Bumpers are straight, but would need rechromed. The Fury starts right up and motor sounds good. Single exhaust - new from muffler back. Everything works on the Fury - all guages, lights, etc. The dash lights are dim - may need a new dimmer switch. The tach works intermittently. The right rear wheel needs a new wheel cylinder - the piston inside doesn't want to retract the shoes when the Fury isn't driven daily. Other than that, mechanically in good shape for a 41 yr old car. Doesn't run hot. Purchased off the original owners with the intent to freshen up and have a piece of nostalgia from my birth year and have the same car my father had purchased new that year. I drove several states south to get this Fury, but sadly don't have the room for it where I live now. I think common sense would indicate that the odometer turned over and mileage is 118k mi. The title says 18k mi because I purchased from the original owners out-of-state and when bringing into OH, they do a VIN and mileage inspection, and these old cars only have 5 spaces for mileage in the guages, so 18k was put on inspection. A great looking Fury that needs some continued freshening to be an awesome car! I have a fair amount of $ invested in it, so please don't email low offers to end auction. I know it's a cliche, but sad to have to sell it..... Please keep in mind this is an AS-IS sale. Obviously, no warranty on a 41-yr old car. It is used and a piece of history, not a new car. Expect repairs along the way - that's part of the passion/sport of old cars. I have done my best to describe the vehicle to the extent of my knowledge. Any questions - feel free to send them in Email, I am quite timely in responses to Emails. Payment instructions WILL be adhered to - please don't bid unless you plan to buy and have funds at the time of your bid. Bid well, but don't bid waiting on a paycheck or hopes of a lottery scratch-off win.
