This auction is for a solid 1974 VW beetle which is becoming a rarity here on the east coast. The car has minimal rust as shown in the pictures and has a rebuilt engine with a new clutch that have about 5k on them. The engine starts and runs very smooth and quiet but needs to warm up before it will idle as it should. The body was restored at some point but now has some parking lot bumps and bruises and has touch up paint in front of the drivers door as shown. The tires have low miles on them and are in good condition. The interior is in fair shape although the front seats need some padding because you can feel the springs, but the covers are decent. The carpets need to be vacuumed. The radio is an expensive aftermarket unit and the speakers in the front and rear are very nice. The major thing this car needs is the brakes to be bled and looked at as there is no pedal pressure. I put fresh fluid in, but did not getting around to bleeding them. The title is in the previous owners name and is clear and signed as well as the paperwork needed to register it in New York State. Overall, this is a very decent car that with the brake fluid addressed, will be on the road getting thumbs up wherever it goes. A $200 deposit is required immediately at the end of the auction, so please be prepared to send this and the balance is due within 10 days when it is to be picked up by. I will be going away for the Memorial day weekend and will not be available from the 27th through the 30th. We were going to put classic insurance ($125 per year) on this and use it for the summer but are going to put the effort into putting our VW bus on the road instead.
