Please CAREFULLY READ all of the information provided below so you know exactly what you are getting into if you decide to bid on this really cool Datsun 280 Z. This car has had the "wide-body" fiberglass body kit installed 7 years ago. The fender, quarter panels and whale tail on the hatch are all fiberglass panels. The rear hatch is the original steel unit with the aftermarket wing molded into it to look like one and was painted complete. It has plastic headlight covers on the front as seen in photos. The paint still shines quite well but does show some age and some cracks. The Complete Fiberglass Kit including panels and hardware was about $3950.00 Without Labor or paint !! This car will run but it doesn’t idle smoothly. It does NOT tick or knock and there is no smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. It does run and drive but will need work before it can be driven safely. It has been sitting for years as a 'someday' project. There is a lot of work and money into it at this point but we have decided to sell it and let someone else finish. It will need the clutch and brakes bled before driving home. It will need tires also to be safe on the road as they are past the “rule of thumb” of 4 years old. Dry rot showing on the sidewalls but they still have good tread. The interior also shows some fading and cracks in the seats from age. “All in all” not a bad car and looks quite well. If your handy or have the connections to do the minor things it needs to be driven. The body is clean and not bad as is, but if you want it perfect, it would need some body & paint. It is not rusted out and has a quite solid uni-body. A number of repairs have already been recently performed. I have Receipts for these repairs and they are listed below. I have also listed all of the repairs needed to the best of my ability. I suggest that you Google the 1975 Datsun 280Z you will find the Z has an impressive racing history. On May-26-11 at 12:45:03 PDT, seller added the following information: As of Thursday May 26th report. We just today replaced and installed all 6 brand new fuel injectors and fuel lines and now it drives and runs great! Drained out the old gas and put in fresh gas. Engine starts right up and idles smooth. We drove it and it runs great. No smoking or engine noise. It shifts fine and the clutch is not slipping. Brake stop the car but will need to be bled to feel normal as the pedal goes down about half way or better to stop hard. All good... The coolant is full, and looks clean. The oil is full and in not really dirty. You could drive this car home if you replaced the tires and bled the brakes. This car has potential and is not a bad car. This is not a pile of junk and could be made into something very special with some time and effort. Someone put in a lot of time and money so far. Tires hold air but will need to be replace because of age. Engine, trans, clutch, brakes and general mechanical is good to go. I could do some of this if you buy the car and you pay for any parts at cost. Just let me if that is what you want.
