1968 Chevrolet Chevelle. SS 396 4 Speed car. The original 396 is gone and there is a 454 in it now. This car is in good condition. The guy I bought the car from started restoring it. It has all new or rebuilt suspension, brakes, rear end, Transmission and motor. The engine is punched out to a 468 with a big lumpy cam and a Gilmer gear drive which sounds awesome. It has a brand new holley 750 double pumper carb and Hooker headers. The motor runs awesome and is very fast. The transmission I am told is the original. I have not verified that so take it for what it is. It is rebuilt and shifts great. There is a new clutch pressure plate and throw out bearing. The shifter has been refurbished as well. It is very tight and shifts great. The rear end is a 12 bolt and again I was told it was original but havent researched it. It is all new as well. The body on the car is gorgeous. Ther is a few minor dents but thats it. I havent found any rust to speak of. The car has had quarters put on it at one time. They did a nice job on the quarters but the paint isnt so good. I dont know if they had something contaminate the paint but it has wierd bubbles in it. Not rust bubbles but something else. The hood is perfect and is original. All other panels are really straight as well. Minor body work and fresh paint are all thats needed. The interior is all there and is in decent shape. It has bucket seats and console. I have brand new carpet and sound deading matt that will be included but are not installed yet. I have all the trim for the car. There is no front bumper. In the pics you will see the headlights and headlight trim are not on. I have them all and they are included. I also have other miscellaneous new items for the car. The hinges on the car are sprung but I have brand new ones ready to bolt on. This car runs and drives really good. It just needs a few finishing touches and you could drive it the way it is. Or strip it and do a full resto. Either way this is a GREAT DEAL. I have tried to be as descriptive as I can. If you dont see something or want to know specifics please ask BEFORE you bid.
