Vehicle Detail

Im selling our 1981 Z28 Camaro because I need to get some extra cash to help pay for my college tution without taking out student loans. Me and my husband started restoring this car in 2004 after saving it from where it set for almost 10 years being gutted out, and over the course of the last 6 or so years have made a vast improvment from how we originally bought it. It was pretty much just a shell with tires/wheels, and the engine and transmission which were also needing parts. It took us about 3 years to get the shell in a drivable condition due to lack of time and money, and then we focused on redoing the motor. The car has been great and very educational to us both redoing it ourself, but its time to let go and move on. I would love to see someone buy this car and give it a great paint job, and also fix its other minor cosmetic problems because it would be amazing. If we had the money to fix this car how we wished then we would keep it, but since there is so much going on in our ife there is no reason to let the car set again because we have not had enough money to keep it insured over the past year and a half since buying our home. The camaro is an automatic V8 and does have the t-tops which is really nice this time of year, and the transmission and engine are also in perfect working condition. The camaro runs and drives perfectly, and their are no known problems with the engine or the transmission, but we have rebuilt the engine and have not had any problems with the transmission though it is not new. Most of the interior parts we purchased came from Classic Industries, but we also purchased parts off of other gutted Z28 Camaros when we could find them, and the motor/heads were machined shopped and bored out 30 over I believe, and the engine parts and accessorys came from Advance Auto Parts and Summit Racing. The car still needs some cosmetic work but the hard part is done and you could still enjoy driving this camaro around while you fix the minor things and get it painted. We only put about 6,500 miles since redoing the engine and have done regular checks on the car since it has been setting over the last year. The car is primered black right now and has silver and burgandy velour seats inside with black trim. The seats did come with the car so I assume their original and need a little work due to stains in the front seats but there is no tears I'm aware of and the back seats look nice, but I have no clue what color this car was or is supposed to be because their was multiple primer colors when we stripped some sections of it down. Please keep in mind the work was done by me and my husband and we are not professionals, this was just a fun adventure for us both and it in no way looks like a "show car", but this would be an amazing car for a collector or teen to show off to their buddies and to finish off to their taste. Please feel free to message me with any questions and I or my husband will be happy to help you out. Thanks! Special features: The car runs and drives It has power windows It has T-tops It is a great piece of history for the asking price It has been 85%-90% redone to get it back on the road by people who care about this type of vehicle What we have added: Cherry Bomb Glasspack Mufflers that stop under the backseat area Driver and passenger side doors Black door panels with chrome trim Chrome trim that lines the top of the door on the outside near window Chrome kick plate at the bottom of door jam Black carpeting/undercarpet padding/sound deadener Installed speakers throughout the car four 6x9 in the back and little 3 inch round speakers above the passenger and driverside, and the car is set up for a sound system with all wiring run from the front to back of car but it needs a cd system added because we had to sell the old one along with the amps and cd changer. Glow summit guages B&M Bumpshifter called Quicksilver Black vent door louvers Dixie horn (the aircompressor needs fixing we never could get the horns to work) Air ride shocks in the back and regular shocks in the front New anti-sway bars in the back Complete wrap around spoilers for the entire car Added a 6 inch cowl induction hood (but will also include the origional cowl induction hood because we have it also) hood is held on by racing pins Silver chain steerign wheel Silver skull rearview mirror New weather stripping in the entire car/door/t-top/and trunk areas New heater but there is no airconditoner in this car The Engine Compartment: The engine is a 305 bored out 30 over and we basically had to purchase everything under the hood so that it would run, with a stage 3 intake, new carberator, new heads/Pistons, Voodoo roller cam, new rods/old school timing gear, power steering, new radiator, new metal wire hoses, fuel line, 100+ amp alternator, new fuel pump/metal fuel lines, even had to buy new starter/distributor/solenoid because they where either missing or bad. The engine is painted blue and other parts have been painted in chrome silver. There are also summit headers that connect to the cherry bomb headers which give it a nice mellow rummbling sound. Things that the car needs or would make the car look better: Minor body work and a paint job Original Z28 stripe kit An emblem is missing on the front grill (we only have a red Z28 emblem on the back fuel door) Could use a new set of wheels if you want shiner or nicer rims, and the car needs new tires Needs a headliner (we did not get to that) Has a cracked ashtray so you could get one of those if the cracked one bothers you Needs a cigarette pusher to go in the cigeratte lighter for people who smoke (we dont smoke so never bothered with it) Has a small crack in the bottom corner of the front window on the passnger side, it is hard to even notice and does not affect vision at all. The console needs a spring and lever to make the lid open and close properly The door handle needs the eschucheon that goes behind them on the passenger side only (I believe thats what they are called?) The dash is in perfect condition accept for a small 1 inch crack in the corner where the vents and dash meet There is window tent that has peeled on the passenger window and needs to be taken off (it was the only tented window in the car because that door is off of another car) Note: Some of the pics show the driver side armrest off the car but we do have it on at this time. Some of these pics were taken while we were restoring it, but it will be cleaned up and vacumed out at the time of sale. Also, depending upon the distance of buyer me and my husband can help make shipping arrangments if need be. We would not mind delivering if the buyer lives close by but this is all negotiable upon the sale of the car. Also if you notice that the title comes back as having a lien on the car please disregard it, as my grandparents did have a personal lien on the car but upon sale it will have a clear title, we are in the process of having the lien dropped and a new title issued. Thanks and email me with questions or concerns, I hope someone really enjoys the camaro!
