Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a very rare 1977 Can Am...only 1377 produced!! Thanks for Looking!! This car started at GM as the Le Mans mid year Sport Coupe Option, however, GM had additional plans in 1977 for raising the bar. All Can Ams produced in 1977 came in White! You could have any other color also, as long as it was white. The car has its factory paint...it's not perfect by any means, and there are surface rust spots that I would take done to bare metal and correctly smooth out the blemishes before prime and paint. Body issues where you would expect to see problems are not there!! Body is in good condition, and as noted, has blemishes in some places that would need a sympathetic restoration. The 2007 August Hemmings Muscle Machine magazine volume 4 number 11 features the Can Am in the Buyers Guide section for that issue. You can go to www.hemmings.com to pull the article from the archives if interested in further information and history, which I believe will get anyone interested even more excited about this car!! What is unique and rare for the CAN AM Le Mans Sport Coupe variant from Pontiac was ... A 400 cid engine Automatic 400 turbo transmission Heavy duty rear end All the following items are new with the restoration work: Transmission, Fuel Tank, Rear end, driveline, radiator, front springs, bushings-upper and lower, front sway bar, rotors, breaks, calipers, bearings. Front end rebuilt Engine was rebuilt by previous owner respecting the originality of the car but with releasing the power Pontiac was know for...(Miles on new engine likely in the 2000 range) RUNS VERY STRONG!!!!!! Odometer reading is CORRECT for the car. Clock in the gauge panel does not work, but everything else does. AutoMeter Gauges---I hate dummy lights and electric gauges have been. Interior of the CAN AM is NOT a standard Le Mans interior from GM. Because of the unigueness of the car, GM's plans to take this car to the next level, took the interior, seats, dash, guages, from the Grand Prix platform design....and it is sharp! The car is being sold as is. Look at the pics and judge for yourself. If you have any questions, call or text me @ (970) 481-4541. I am a private seller. I reserve the rite to cancel a bid from individuals who do not have ratings from Ebay, or are new to the auction process. If you find yourself in this position, do wish to bid, please contact me to discuss prior to bidding, so we can possibly work something out.
