Vehicle Detail
1986 Porsche 930 - 51,566 miles Great opportunity to own a low mileage, all original (except for wheels) Porsche 930. It is 280HP, turbocharged and has a four speed manual transmission - those are some of the reasons I am selling. In addition, age (mine) and financial situation - I would love to keep the 930 if I could afford to but I have a 1983 911SC Cabriolet which is a little slower than the 930 and thus fits my driving habits and skills. The 930 is a little too fast and furious than I should be driving at my age. I also have a 1979 Mercedes 450SLC 5.0 that I am fixing up and that will end up being my daily driver - no clutch and it has cruise control! Most of the mileage on the 930 has been for golf - I usually travel anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour away, so most of the miles have been on the freeways and I have never had the tach over 5800, so you know I shouldn't be driving this supercar! I have owned the 930 since October 2007 when it had 37,905 miles - it was owned previously for two years by a businessman in Southern California and he purchased it from a friend of his in Michigan - as the story was told to me, when they would meet in Michigan the PO found the 930 sitting in his friends warehouse and not being used. So after a few visits over the years, the car was purchased and transported back to sunny California. There was some indication that the Michigan owner hit a deer with the car, but I have seen no indication of issues or noticed any areas of repair nor driving issues. The exterior is Anthracite grey and the leather interior is black. The entire car is in terrific condition and has the normal cosmetic issues one would expect for a 25 year old car. There are a few scratches/dings that are shown in the pictures. The interior is in great condition - the only issue is the rear speaker deck has not been reinstalled correctly - my bad, I had it recovered in leather and left the speakers in place - I should have removed the speakers because when I purchased the car one of my first "upgrades" was to get an original radio so I removed the new amplifier and radio and disconnected the rear speakers. The radio, I think, is correct for the car a Blaupunkt Reno SQR 46 which I had refurbished. When I go the car in 2007 I had some major service work done ($7,000 worth) - the engine was removed from the car and resealed, hoses were replaced and a new clutch was installed, valves adjusted etc. Here's a list of most of the repairs/updates made since 2005: 1) complete engine reseal, crankshaft seal, oil pressure switch, new intake boot, turbo gasket, cam exchanger gasket, chain cover gaskets 2) new oil hoses 3) new clutch disc, clutch release bearing clutch cable, clutch pilot bearing 4) new engine pad 5) new deck shocks 6) new factory tail light lenses 7) battery quick disconnect 8) new headliner 9) rebuilt A/C compressor 10) rebuilt alternator 11) new door light switch covers 12) all season car cover ($330) 13) rebuilt steering rack 14) new front Bilsten inserts 15) new rear Bilsten shocks 16) new steering column bushing 17) rebuilt CD unit (capacitive discharge unit) 18) new ROH polished aluminum wheels 19) refurbished speedometer 20) new wiper blades 21) new rubber window seals for winshield, rear window and quater windows 22) new tires (10/6/10) 23) new heater cables & guides 24) new power window relay ... and a bunch of other stuff. I have complete records/receipts from last two owners. I live 30 miles east of Los Angeles and I am 10 minutes from the Ontario International Airport - I welcome your questions about the car and encourage you look at it in person. I don't think you could be disappointed. Don't hesitate to call (909) 518-0688. The following link shows pictures of the undercarriage I took tonight and pictures of the engine when it was removed for the major service by 911 Design of Montclair in December 2007. https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/sredir?uname=MRGoosh&target=ALBUM&id=5603053084081813569&authkey=Gv1sRgCIiS99Xq4KPI3AE&feat=email
