Up for auction is the CLEANEST, MOST ORIGINAL and GORGEOUS 1981 Honda that came out of the 1st Generation of Gold Wings produced in the USA. This bike has on it the original Metallic Blue Black (changes color in daylight) paint and Gold pinstriping. The original owner (I'm the 2nd) Special Ordered this bike with every conceivable Hondaline Accessory available in 1981: AM/FM Radio with Dual Intercoms, Four-Opening Meter Panel (Very Rare Option) with quartz analog clock, exterior thermometer, altimeter and voltmeter (see pics), Hondaline Traler/Towing Package with 5 wire pigtail and Hondaline cover. In addition to these options the O.O Special Ordered from Markland a set of Cowl/Engine covers (see pics) and had them painted by Honda to match the bike paint and pinstriping. These are very cool, and really make the bike stand out. The original owner was a Classic Car and Truck collector who took buying this bike real serious. When he bought it he did so as an investment. He drove it regularly, but never very far from home. The bike has NEVER been in storage or stored for the winter; his collection director told me all his vehicles had to be ready to be ridden or driven 24/7/365 a year! He had it put in a climate-controlled garage on his estate with his Vintage cars and trucks. All maintenance was performed by a Honda mechanic that would make quarterly visits to his garage for service. The known major repairs on the bike are: all exhausts and pipes replaced with NOS Honda parts 2009, fork replacement (not resealing mind you) 2008, new shocks, springs and Air Ride System 2008, rebuilt AM/FM Radio (Sierra Electronics) 2011, New speakers 2010. I know you cannot tell from the pics but this bike has NO rust, faded paint, peeled pinstriping, no dings, no noticable scratches (1 under the false tank). And as good as it looks-it drives better. It starts within 2 turns of the starter with 1/4 inch of choke and runs like a demon! I drive it weekly since I bought it and have taken trips to NC and even did The Dragon in April 2011! As far as other mechanics-timing belt is new 2010 (2K miles) and the brakes, drive train/cardan, swingarms, stator and all other electronics work flawlessly as they were intended and have been gone through in the bikes annual inspection in Jan 2011. The bikes' mechanic is here in Atlanta and will be available for the purchaser to talk with if desired when the bike is picked up when sold. If possible call me and come see it in person if you like.
