Vehicle Detail

1988 MAZDA RX-7 TURBO-II S4 This is my personal RX-7 Turbo-II that is for sale. I have had this car for about 2 years and it has never given me an issue. The car from what I can tell through the original Carfax I did when I was purchasing it lived in Burbank CA. for most of its life. Then it appears that the owners moved out to CO. and took the car with them where they registered it and kept it for about a year. It then was purchased by me and brought back to CA and has been here ever since. The car is in extremely rare ALL ORIGINAL condition. The paint appears to be original and in amazing shape. All badges, emblems, and tags are still on the car. The car was smogged and passed with no issue on the first try. And if you know anything about how strict CA smog laws are I think you would find that impressive for a car of this age. This car has 150k on the clock but the condition is much better from other RX-7's of this vintage showing much lower miles. Just take a look for yourself! Thise car was extremely cared for and maintained properly. These RX-7 Turbo-II cars are not only extremely rare now, but they were rare when they were new. Whats even more rare is to find a mint condition ALL ORIGINAL example that has everything in proper working order today. Most of these cars are just done plain and simple. They have been destroyed by kids who saw Initial D and wanted to be drifters just like the people in that anime. They have been hacked up and destroyed as well as abused. Its sad, but these amazing litle cars are all but gone. This is a true survivor. I have a Photobucket account with about 90 pictures of this car from all angles. I am not trying to hide or mask anything. This car is mint! Another thing I did was to take detailed pictures of interior plastic trim. For whatever reason the plastic AC Vents, Gauge Cluster suround, and other plastic pieces are always broken on these RX-7's. This one is all complete with nothing missing and all interior plasctic pieces are there and not broken. Please take a good look at the pics as there are many showing everything I am talking about. http://s237.photobucket.com/albums/ff152/WWIXRS/RX7/?start=all http://s237.photobucket.com/albums/ff152/WWIXRS/RX7/?albumview=slideshow Exterior. The exterior of this car is flawless for a car of this age. The paint is amazing and still shines. The emblems and badges are all there. The Turbo-II decal badges on the fenders are the original OEM MAZDA gradiant printed vynil pieces. From what I understand, these OEM Turbo-II fender badges are not even available from MAZDA anymore and havent been for some time. This is also a very hard to find color combo. Very few Turbo-II RX-7's were produced in white and from what I have seen in old brochure pictures online the white cars are the only ones that had the red Turbo-II fender badging. This is a mid to late model year 1988 RX-7. Early 1986-88 RX-7's had decals instead of actual 3D plastic badges in the rear which this car has. It also has the 89 on up S5 style leather steering wheel, rear wing, and mirrors. I wnet to MAZDA TRIX in Long Beach CA. to ask about these strange things and one of the workers quickly told me all about how MAZDA was known for doing weird mid-model year changes. He said it was indeed factory original and rare. He also was very impressed by the condition of this RX-7. And these guys see all model years of RX-7's come and go so I myself was impressed by his compliments. I ran the VIN # through a MAZDA website before I purchsed the car and the vehicle came back as a true Turbo-II. Many people buy N/A models and convert them. Then at the time of sale try to pass them off as true factory Turbo-II cars. I wasnt going to buy a clone. I like factory original cars. All retractable head light pieces are mint and in proper working order. No problems with them moving when retracting or popping them up. They are also solid and do not move/have play in them. All lights from headlights/HI beams to tail lights work flawlessly. This can be made sure of because everything is requierd to work when CA inspects an out of state car in order to transfer the title. All glass is clean with no cracks of any kind. The body has no dents and is straight. It has I think 1 or 2 tiny dings that are barely visible and have to be lookes for. I did my best to capture them in the pics but I was not able to. All body panels align properly and have no issues when opening or closing. The car has no sign of ever being involved in an accident. And if it had, I wouldnt have purchased it in the first place. I play with some high dollar cars so in order for this car to have come home with me it had to be in extremly prestine condition. All release buttons/tabs for the Hood, Hatch, and Fuel Door are in proper working order. All door handles interior and exterior are in proper working order. All interior Gauges and Instrumentation are in proper working order. All windshield wiper, both front and rear, are in proper working order. All windshield wiper blades, both front and rear, are brand new top of the line BOSH pieces. All togles and control inside are in proper working order. All accesorie lights, warning lights, and warning buzzers are in proper working order. Both driver and passanger side windows roll up and down with no issues. The car has no issues with water getting in when it rains or when being washed. All seals are in proper working order. All locks on the car are in proper working order. The retractable antena in the rear is in proper working order. It pops up when the radion is turned on and then retracts when you shut the radio off. Interior. All seating surfaces are still rock solid and have no rips. The carpet is in really good shape both in the cabin and in the hatch. All door panels are mint with no cracks or rips. The dash is mint and has no cracks. It also has a dash cover that has been on there since the car was new. This is probably why the dash has no cracks. All foot pedals are there and in proper working order. The interior clock is in proper working order. The gauges are all in proper working order. All interior lights and switches are in proper working order. The hatch are is extemly clean and has the straps to hold down the removable moon roof. All interior plastics pieces and panels are there and not broken. The radio still functions properly and sounds great except for one thing. I explain further down in the listing. The trip odometer is in proper working order. The overall mile odometer is in proper working order. The headliner is all there and not sagging. The soon roof functions properly and does not leak any water. All climate control functions are oporating including heater and defrost modes. AC is all there under the hood but does not blow cold. It needs to be recharged. Mechanical. The engine is healthy and starts right away. The engine does not smoke when running. The engine does not flood when being restarted. The engine does not consume oil in any abnormal fashion. The engine does not consume coolant in any abnormal fashion. The engine is still very strong and runs very strong. The engine has very good oil presure. In one of the pictures I took you can see that the car makes about 80psi of oil presure at under 2,000 rpm. That is extremely good. The turbo is still in great functioning order. I turbo time the car when ever I drive it and from what I can tell the previous owners did as well since the turbo is still so healthy. The transmision shift great and is in proper working order. The clutch is engaging and disengaging properly and shows no signs of slipping. The rear end is strong and tight. When the car is jacked up evenly from the rear both left and right tires spin in the same direction so the limited slip unit is healthy and working properly. This car being a Turbo-II has the big 4 piston MAZDA calipers in the front and 2 piston calipers rear along with huge rotors. All brakes function properly and with no issues. The car has no leaks from what I can tell. It never leaves stains on the floor from oil or coolant. If it did my home owners association would fine me evertytime it did. The steering is tight and fast. The pump is healthy and does not make any noises. The suspension is tight and in proper working order. Car rides and handles great. Does not feel louse or sloppy. Things I would eventually change. The factory radio still works, BUT it now acts strange sometimes. At times now when you start the car, the radio seems to go to some random station. All you do is put the receiver back on the station where you would like to be. But to me this is a bit annoying and I would chnage it. The Air Conditioning is all there in the engine bay and the climate control unit functions properly. But there is no cold air coming from the vents. To me its no big deal since I dont really ever use AC and always drive with my windows down. But future owners may like to know that everything is there and the system just need to be recharged.
