Up for auction is this very rare and original 1964 Chevrolet Impala SS 409 car featuring the 340 horsepower version with a factory 4 speed and Hurst shifter. This car spent 17 years in a barn in Nebraska before it was brought back to life with a frame off restoration a number of years ago. Interestingly, the car has not had any of its components replaced. It was restored using all the original parts and chrome it originally came with. The paint is Azure Aqua Poly metallic with a 2 tone white and blue interior. The car has manual steering, power brakes, factory 409 tachometer and AM radio. The paint shines nicely and there are no rips in the interior or headliner. The motor is very strong showing good compression and it will spin the wheels in all 4 gears. No oil consumption and no issues with the drivetrain. The trunk is immaculate as is the undercarriage. Dual exhaust, radial whitewalls and SS hubcaps make the car look vintage and appealing. There are no rust issues with this car. The quarter panels are clean and the frame is solid. This Chevy has been adult owned all it's life and privately owned. Medical reasons force me to sell this nice original musclecar. Car has been serviced and is ready to go to it's next owner. The only issue I appear to be having is that the factory tachometer doesn't always work. My mechanic thinks it is an electrical problem that he doesn't deal with. It could be a minor wiring issue, but I know that these tachs are now reproduced. Worse case scenario is replacing it, but I feel that this one can be troubleshooted and repaired. Everything else works fine including original radio.
