He knows his stuff inside and out, and this car has benefited while in his ownership. The present owner has built a collection of four Austin-Healey 3000’s and really understands and enjoys these cars tremendously. He bought this Colorado Red car in 2008 from a collector who had owned the car for ten years, from 1998-2008. That prior owner had only put 950 miles on the car over ten years and when the present owner took possession of the car, he commissioned a mechanical freshening that became a thorough mechanical rebuild (@ $15,000 worth) to exemplary standards. Correct parts were sourced from specialist Moss Motors and the mechanical restoration was performed by the skilled vintage car staff at Zakira’s Garage in Cincinnati, Ohio. In its present state, the car is in outstanding mechanical condition and ready to be driven anywhere. Underneath, the frame and undercarriage are straight and totally solid. Also, cosmetically the car had received a sympathetic restoration in the 1990’s that included new floorboards and a full repaint. It presents super in Colorado Red / Black and shows appropriate and appealing patina in its paint, chrome, and interior.
