Vehicle Detail
It's time to sell our family Subaru Forester X (white exterior/ grey interior) which has served us flawlessly since I bought it new in 2003. My wife used this car as a daily driver communting 90 highway miles round trip to work everyday for ~7 years, averaging 25-28 mpg depending on conditions. Since new, I have serviced this car without fail @ 5000 mile intervals using quality fluids and filters. At ~101,000 miles I had a local import service station replace the timing belt, oil pump seal, and serpantine belts per Subaru guidlines. I also recently replaced the fuel pump, headlight bulbs, anitfreeze, transfer case oil, rotors, brake pads, & fuel filter. The tires have ~65% tread remaining and all match. The transmission fluid and spin on filter will be due for replacement at 170,000 miles (VERY easy and inexpensive to service). The all wheel drive works as it should, the transmission shifts crisp and on time, the steering is tight and wobble free, the A/C blows ice cold, the heat hot, cruise control holds steady, and all power options work as they should. As with any car driven 164,901 miles, there are minor bug/rock chips here and there, and minor stains on the seats from the kids (nothing unsightly). This car has been garaged since day #1, so the paint shows extremely nice for the miles. What this car needs is a new windshield if it bothers you, and a good home. These cars received a 5 star crash rating in both frontal and rollover protection....very safe vehicles. If you drive in the snow/ice and foul weather, this car will NOT leave you stuck. It has 4 wheel ABS and the transfer case that sends power from the wheels that slip, to the wheels that grip. The service engine light is on because the catalitic converters are gone. Around 110,000 miles they clogged up, and at the time I didn't have the money to replace them. This does not affect driveabiltiy in any way, just the little orange light illuminated on the dash. The windows are tinted to leagl 35% standards to prevent fading of the interior. The driver's seat has minor cracking on the side bolster from getting in and out...not bad at all. This ad is purposely long as I wanted to describe everything I know about this car before you call with 100 questions. The title is free and clear. My price is negotiable....PLEASE no low ball offers or trades. If your interested, please call Joe @ 913-244-three-eight-two-nine. On Apr-26-11 at 22:12:02 PDT, seller added the following information: I forgot to mention that the battery was replaced this past winter, and the wife reports that one of the fog light bulbs needs to be replaced. The air cleaner is a washable K&N filter which has a million mile warranty. When I replaced all 4 tires last year, I also had a 4 wheel allignment done and the bearings/races replaced in the front hubs. The rear differential has a skid plate, and the overall sheet metal is rust free. The rear seats fold down to increase back storage capacity significantly. The roof rack is adjustable and has never been used. I have a truck/trailer and am willing to deliver this vehicle for a negotiated fee within a 200 mile radias of zip code 66071.
