Vehicle Detail

Video Description of Bus You are looking at a nice rust free driver bus which was pulled from storage recently and refreshed with a recently rebuilt engine (15k Miles prior to storage), a brand new Rancho transmission, (about 50 miles), new clutch and shift bushings, new front brakes and rears, rebuilt carberator and much much more! This van is a rust free 71 with first year disk brakes up front! The van has a nice big sunroof to enjoy the summer days ahead. It comes with both middle and rear original seats and has front seats from a late model 911 Porsche! This van belongs to my neighbor, it has a clear title and tags for for one year. Please call him at 949- 375- 0 2 5 9 Exterior wise the paint is a dark blue, originally I believe it was white. The current paint is in fair shape. It looks good from 20 feet but up close it has many nics, scratches and flaws. However it does have a decent shine to it and could easy serve as a driver as it is. The body is straight and there are no major dents or major exterior rust, so a paint job would be fairly easy to do if desired. It has a big sunroof and the canvas top is in good shape, no tears, it buttons on. All the original glass is in good shape, rear center windows are the vent style and are from a Westfalia. It has brand new front door handles. The slider door seems to get a little jammed up on occasion and will need adjustment or parts to make move smoother. He does not have a key for the rear hatch and the rear deck lid does not latch shut properly. Interior wise, as you can see from the photos, it will need some tlc here. The front seats are from a 1985 Porsche 911 and the leather is a bit tired, but still seat comfortably. Center seat and rear seat and stock. The middle seat is useable but the rear bottom has some rips in it. The latches that hold the rear seats down are missing. Dash top is in good shape, steering wheels looks good. The wipers and horn do not work, heater control knobs are missing. Glove box is in good shape. The van has wooden door panels up front and some custom shag carpeted paneling in the rear. There is a rear over the engine piece that we took out in order to fit the rear seat as well as a speaker box section. There is no headliner. Consider the interior a project. Mechanically, my neighbor put this van back on the road after beling sitting for about 15 years or so. The engine apparently has 15,000 miles on it according the the previous owner, and it seems to run very well. The gas tank was drained and cleaned out, fuel lines were replaced, new filter etc. Oil was changed and valves adjusted. The carburator was rebuilt and it received a new distributor. The engine runs very well and is strong. After the engine was straightened out, we noticed the transmission was shot, so he purchased a brand new Rancho performance tranny with warranty and had that professionally installed. Also new shifter bushings were added and new clutch disk. Then the brakes were redone with new disks and calipers and pads up front, rears looked ok but wheel cylinder were replaced. New felx brake lines were added as well and a new brake booster was purchased and installed. At this point the van is in good running and driving condition, but it still needs a little more minor TLC items done. The tires have lots of tread but are older and should be replaced for safety reasons. Wipers probably need a fuse to work and horn most likely a ground problem. Otherwise the van runs and drives great! Please give my neighbor a call an he can answer questions for you. 949- 375- 0 2 5 9 Be sure to watch the video above the write up!
