Vehicle Detail
This is a 1967 Saab 96 two stroke sedan. The oil is mixed with the gasoline and is one of the final two stroke Saabs produced prior to the V4 models. The car has front disc and rear drum brakes. Originally from Napa California, this car is in very good condition. The chrome while not perfect, is not pitted and shines very well. The car was repainted when I purchased it by the previous owner and is a fair job. There appears to be some underlying body filler on the top part of the front left fender that has cracked. There is no rust on the car and the body is very solid. The trunk is clean and the original tool kit in the vinyl bag, owners manual and repair manual are included. The glass on all windows is perfect, all the lights work and the horns have been rebuilt and perfect. All of the window moulding is new. I have the original Saab key that fits the ignition, locks and glove compartment. Mechanically, I have gone through the car and with the assistance of Chip Lamb from West of Sweden and Jack Ashcraft, I have repaired or replaced most of the worn parts with originals. West of Sweden rebuilt the engine and less than 800 miles have been put on the engine since that time. The rebuilt 850 cc engine included; reconditioned head, block, new crank shaft, new pistons and connecting rods, rebuilt starter, rebuilt triple Solex carburetor and rebuilt distributer. The motor and transmission mounts have been replaced, the clutch is new, there are 4 new KGB shocks, a Sport Saab GT exhaust System, relined fuel tank, Pertronix 1832 electronic ignition, and alternator conversion for generator. The stop straps and rear bushings have been replaced with new ones. The car wears 4 vintage Saab soccerball alloy wheels that are perfect and are powdercoated. The rare Saab center caps are in good condition, the lug bolts are reconditioned originals coated in cadmium and the tires are Vredestein Sprint Classics near new condition. The interior is in very good condition. The front seats have new foam cushioning, there is a mint condition wood steering wheel, professionally installed head liner, new rubber mats. All of the gauges work as do the wipers and fan motor. Here is a link to a video while the engine is running http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9QreQleUst8 This is a great car and I have spent over $19,000 getting it to where it is. As I said, the paint is fair, the right side door thumb latch sticks and there are some minor cracks in the dash. I have all the receipts from the work I have performed on the car which will go to the new owner.
