Vehicle Detail
Selling my late father's 1972 MGB. This car was his pride and joy, but has sat garaged for the past few years while he had been sick. Car starts, runs, and moves - but needs brakes, a thorough cleaning, and some of TLC to get it back to it's glory. Please inquire about any questions. On Apr-24-11 at 07:28:22 PDT, seller added the following information: Selling my late father's 1972 MGB. This was a full restoration that my father did on this car over the course of many years. The car has been garaged the whole time, but hasn't been driven in 3-5 years as my father had cancer. Car was able to be started with a little tinkering, but needs brakes. There was no smoke or anything of that nature when the car started. I live in MA, and the car is at a friends house in NJ now, so I apologize if I can't provide a lot of details in certain areas. Friend is a mechanic and was able to get it started and to 'drive' it a few feet in his driveway, but the brakes need to be replaced and currently don't work. There is a small amount of rust, but I believe that to be primarily isolated to where the panels meet the chassis and most likely some in the driver's side floorpan. There is an indentation on the hood (about a foot across) should be able to be banged out, and the paint is peeling there as well. It does have the original oil filter (supposedly a good thing) as well as two other 'round things' (my mother's words) on the engine which I believe to be dual carb. As to not misrepresent, please know that this is not a 'drive off'. The car will need to be trucked to it's destination and needs alot of TLC and should be treated a restoration project. This car was beautiful and ran great when my father had it all restored, and I am sure it will be again. If you want to see the car, I can arrange for you to see it at my friend's house. I'll just need to call him and let him know.
